ANAMIDE
The high energy, bone-jarring impact of Anamide’s live stage performance is absolutely undeniable. The sheer emotion that radiates from each band member draws fans deep into the music, creating an electric atmosphere. Anamide’s riveting live performances and never-say-die work ethic has earned them the distinction of being one of Baltimore’s premier acts.
The journey began in 2003, when founding members TJ Paul and B Smith joined forces to pursue their musical vision. One important component of Anamide’s music is the signature guitar sound provided by TJ Paul. His Raw, Dark, surreal guitar riffs are delivered with thick, sparkling distortion and mesmerize the audience, leaving them in awe. Brian Smith’s melodic bass lines, meanwhile, hold down the low end and provide solid punch to the music. He is considered to be a second guitar player by both respected musicians and critics alike. The final two key elements to Anamide’s formula lay with frontman Shane and skinsman Darren. Shane’s hardcore melodic vocal skills grip the listener with ferocity and intensity rarely heard. Meanwhile, Darren locks the groove down with a combination of tight, technical drum beats and fills drawn from his influence of multiple styles.
After the lineup was completed in late 2005, Anamide has been poised to take the next step. Driven by their desire for excellence, and sheer adrenaline; the members have carved their own niche in the Northeastern music scene.
They have shared the stage with such acts as Staind, Powerman 5000, Three Days Grace, Hurt, Dogfashion Disco, Mellow Drone, Josh Todd, Mercy Falls, The Hourly Radio, Marc Rizzo, The Accident Experiment,Otep and many others. Additionally, their hard work and talent also landed them a sponsorship with Jagermeister.
