Evin and John's friendship started in 2007. They were in a band called Epic Revolution for about a year before they disbanded and temporarily went their separate ways.

John quit music for about a year before picking up the bass again. From there, he did some punk stuff and some psychedelic stuff. He joined a band called Wake Up the Neighborhood for six months. Then he joined The Dazed for about a year. After that, he and Evin formed Formalicy before changing our name to Stars of Light.

Evin joined a thrash metal band called Hollow Vale for about 4 months. After a year or so hiatus, he joined Silver Thorn, an alternative band for about 6 years before forming Formalicy/Stars of Light with John.
