Hey Lisa,

Welcome to Broadjam! I think you will find this is a great site with helpful and friendly folk.

I want to thank you for the very nice and thorough and "spot on" review of my song, "Lady, Oh, Lady". It comes from my 2nd album, "Waving Prairie", and is clearly, as you noted, in the 60's-70's folk genre. Very much a Joni Mitchell-like song. Back then my producer and David Crosby called me the "male Joni Mitchell"..... I wrote the song in the late 60's and it is more of a poem put to music than following the typical song formats. A process I STILL use..... As I have learned over the years, not every song needs to follow the AABA, ABABCB....etc...styles.

This song was inspired by Greek mythology and tells the tale of a butterfly who falls in love with a man and then the butterfly approaches the female lover and proposes that they "trade places" by drinking a magic potion...and the woman agrees....and life goes on a little more magical than before. A unique idea indeed....albeit without a chorus....as the repeating musical track hopefully acts as the binder.

Anyway, if you like this song, I'll invite you to stop by and listen to more music. "Beetles Are Coming" is a goodie, "Bricks" is new and filled with solid songwriting....I think we have 29+ albums loaded up at the site. Hard for me to keep track because I have several projects I am working at any given time.

OK, enough about me.

So, what about you? You need to load up some songs and post your bio.....etc. And KEEP those great reviews coming....they are extremely valuable to the people you have an opportunity to review.

Stay in touch and let me know if you need any help here at Broadjam....as I said, you'll find there are a LOT of talented people here and people who are very kind and helpful to other artists.

Best,

Chet Nichols
