I've been playing the guitar since the 5th grade. I was very lucky to have been guided early on by two very talented guitar teachers. From them I learned how to play and improvise in many different styles.
My earliest guitar influences were Johnny Winter, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and John Mclaughlin. Later influences include Eric Johnson and Mike Stern. In addition, I listen to a lot of Jazz artists and a lot of Classical music.
I love to write and record - especially groove-oriented music.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what you hear!!
Musically yours,
Walter Roberti
Walter Roberti
Walter Roberti is a renowned guitarist with over twenty years of professional playing experience. Roberti first began playing in earnest by copying the Pop and R&B hits of his teen years. This interest was taken to the next plateau when Roberti enrolled in the prestigious Aaron Copeland School of Music, where he majored in composition and theory.
After graduation, Roberti began putting in his time on the N.Y.C. club circuit, while also gaining valuable experience through his roadwork with The Platters, Ben E. King, and The Drifters. Roberti then advanced to making inroads into the New York studios and sessions, working with various artists and producers.
Aside from holding a B.A. in Music, Roberti also studied privately for several years with notable Guitar Player Magazine columnist and fingerstyle jazz virtuoso Howard Morgen.
