I write a lot of different kinds tunes, depending on what is going on in my life at any given moment, or unconsiously reflecting on some past occurrence perhaps. Sometimes I wake up and it's going to be a blues thing. Othertimes, it can be a country or ballad feeling that predominates and hangs onto me for a few days. I'm a painter as well and this can be a heavy influence when I am working on a picture or sculpture. I like that variety in life, so it is reflected in my art, whether singing a song or doing a graphic for some project. Living near the ocean in a beautiful part of the country helps keep my spirits up in these anxious times.
