There are no stars here. If you were a big deal you wouldn't be here trying to get on the Over 50 East of the Mississippi Lite Rock Top 10 along with me. So if you don't put effort into listening, offering feedback who the hell's gonna do you any favors? This site is about being peers and giving us all a chance to have a sounding board. If you want to email blast and can't be bothered with those of others then go _____ yourself. Just had to say that...
Well said amigo lol!
you are so right Jeff we all need someone to listen and say go north ,south , east or west. Even after playing pro 50 years when you hear something nice --its like my 4 yr old grandson says---"I want that"! catnip
Just to be clear, I don't expect every "friend" to respond to an email blast. But those who have dropped songs into my inbox and received stars, reviews, support, etc and can't stir themselves to read a mail much less offer some sort of feedback are being addressed (and dropped from future interaction). The "all about me" shit doesn't cut it here...go get a MySpace page if that's what your deal is.
Meanwhile you have people like Ionut, Cyndi, Doug, Frank, Dianne, Thierry, Nick, Peter, Penny, Anthony, Jim and others I'll forget to mention or are in other orbits but supportive there that make this a fun and meaningful community! Let the duds go find fame and fortune on Music Xray...
Jeff, seems I've become a dud...... Bill
but have found fame and fortune Bill? (I thought that was such a scam site)
Jeff, I wasn't referring to that site...I don't even know what it is. I noticed you removed me from your friends list and was curious as to why. I'm lucky if 10% of the people I send messages to respond. Sometimes the response is positive, sometimes not. I don't have a clue why the ones who don't respond, don't. Maybe their day job has got them working overtime, maybe they're ill, maybe they don't know exactly what to say, maybe Bjam isn't the only outlet they have for their music. I've always appreciated your input and agree that some of us don't always live up to your expectations. I love Bjam and all those who have I have come into contact with here.... Bill
Agree. Broadjam is 99% for getting feedback from other musicians and you need to give to get. Some people are way more active than others. I come and go depending on when I release new music but always try and do a few reviews because I know how valuable the feedback has been for me. There are only a very lucky few who ever get their music placed. IMO, If you want to "make it" in the music business (or even have a shot) you need to fully commit and move to Nashville or LA.
Thanks Black Valentine for the review on my song Down in Flames. Appreciate the feedback and best of luck to you guys.
You're very welcome. Hope what I had to say helped. I'm not sure how I'm supposed to Review Songs here. It seems a lot of people are putting Demos up instead of Radio Ready Recordings. The Rating System seems to be all about the Recording Quality and less about Song Structure, etc. which makes me want to talk more about the actual Recording than the Song. So some of my Reviews may come off a bit harsh. The last thing I'd want to do is discourage anyone.
Nice to have my newest song "Down in Flames" selected for two different opportunities by two different providers. I've been off Broadjam for a while taking a break and just recently upgraded to the Primo membership so this is a great way to start! Happy Holidays and best wishes to everyone!
Well done Scott - and good luck.
Thanks Bob!
Hi Cortez, thank you for selecting Down in Flames for possible video game placement! I tried to email you but your mailbox is full. Please let me know what info you may need from me. Thank you.
Very pleased that Time To Think (and possibly other songs?) has been selected for placement in a Publishing/Licensing company library in USA and worldwide. Just trying to resolve some contract differences but am hopeful we can agree on long term copyright issues.
Well done Bob - was that a BJ opportunity? Alan
Thanks Alan. Yes it was a BJ opportunity and I have decided their terms are quite acceptable so will place 5 songs with them for pitching.
Awesome !!:))
I think contracts are generally more favourable these days, with reversionary clauses if the music is not getting used within 2 or maybe 3 years. My first 'champagne' moment was in 1965 when my tune 'Golden Dawn' was contracted to The Shadows. It was never used, and has been a prisoner of that contract ever since. The recording on my page was made by me in 1995 just for fun, but I can't do anything with it. I believe that I can reclaim the copyright in 2021 by which time I'll be 77 and probably past caring! http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=37910&mediaID=282405 1 Alan
About right. This agreement gives me the songs back after 3 years if no deal is done. I've decided that at 69 tender years of age (!) holding 100% of my copyrights simply means I'm ruling out any chance of earning recognition or dosh, i.e. holding 100% of nothing! Here's to 2021 when you get Golden Dawn back!!
Nice going Bob and congratulations on your placements. Glad that BJ is coming through for some folks!
Many thanks Scott. Although I had one song selected, I was asked to send more and have not yet had feedback on them from the publisher. I have to hope he likes the lot well enough to confidently pitch them. Fingers are still firmly crossed!!
Hi Roy, Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for adding my new song "Down in Flames" to your Roy Elkins Rock page! Very cool. I do appreciate the community here and all of the feedback I've received in the past. Thanks again, Scott

Hello Roy! Wanted to give you an update. My song I Came To Play got signed by Perpetual Music Group. I have been a member since April 18th. I believe in the process and appreciate what you are doing. Thank you Roy and Broadjam! CaiNo

Thanks Roy. My song We All Come Home is number 1 today on the contemporary folk charts. Appreciate the platform and the work you do.
Hi Roy, hope you are well my friend, what have you been up to? I know it's been a while since we last spoke ... all the very best, Jamie Xxx
Chris, Thanks for your note and congrats to you. Lots of good music on the folk charts, so congrats again and thanks for being a member. Roy
Jamie, It's great to hear from you. It's been a while. I hope you are well. All the best, Roy
Please check out my new song "Down in Flames" if you get a chance. Its certainly one of the heavier things I've ever done. I play/sing everything on this recording except for the drums. Thanks for any feedback!
It's probably a bit too heavy for me Scott but a great track nonetheless. Fantastic performance instrumentally and vocally - and top quality production. Good luck with it. Bob
Thank you Bob! I always try and push myself to not record the same type or style of song as I've done in the past. So this was a great exercise to explore a little more of the heavy metal guy in me!
Scott, Thanks for the feedback on "Never Believed In", your title change of "Truth in Lies" has some interesting merit. We happen to be re-tracking this with my current band, The Noted; and yes it will have some nice harmonies. I hope you'll check it our in about 6 weeks. Thanks - dw
No problem and I'll look to listen to the update. BTW, I just uploaded a new single called "Down in Flames". Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks!
Thanks guys for the 5 Star rating on Pedestrianica and adds to your songlist with End of the Line as well. As always, very appreciated. Have a great holidays and looking forward to great things for both of us in 2016!
Merry Christmas Scott to you and yours may this Season bring Goodness & Love. So good to hear from you dear friend, yes 2016 may we all have placements. We are looking forward to it! Dean & Jacalyn
Hi there guys! Thank you for the 5 Star Ratings on "All That and More" and "Decay"! Lots of fun recording these! There is one other new one as well "Pedestrianica" that you might want to check out. I'm back in the studio now recording more! Thanks again for your support and the support to the Broadjam community. I wish you guys nothing but the best!
We will be back t hear more glad you are back recording more. You have something real special keep Sailing friend all the very best Abram Band Dean & Jacalyn
Can anyone explain to me how a BJ member can be top in 3 cans and in the top 20 of each of the other cans in the 6 pack challenge when there are no songs listed on their site? Is it possible to hide all your tracks somehow, if not where do the songs come from to go in the 6 pack? I find this competition too puzzling for words?!
Bob, I just saw someone who song was "considered" for an opportunity but the song wasn't on the artists page when I went to listen. Sometimes I really wonder about the legitimacy this site.....
I know what you guys mean. All of the oppurtunitys I submitted to , all said they did not pick anyone and keep working on your craft. I am thinking they took our money but decided not to pick any one? Seems suspicious.
I've only just seen your posts folks, apologies. I have since been reminded that you can hide your tracks as an option on the song edit page. Why would you want to do that? Strange...............
Hi fellow Broadjammers, if you have the chance, please check out my new songs All That (and More), Pedestrianica and Decay and let me know your thoughts! Thanks for listening and best of luck to all!
Scott, Appreciate the review of "Motivator". Bill
Bill, you're welcome. Excellent tune. Best of luck to you with your future endeavors.....
Note to self: Is it really worth spending all that dosh to enter the 6 pack? With places from 38th to 144th, possibly not. Will review at the end of the contest!
This is also my 1st attempt at the six pack and I'd be interested to know how many songs are submitted to each can. It would give more meaning to the placings. My current range is joint 1st to 222nd.
Things move quickly around here Alan, I see you are now #3, pretty damned good. My friend Julia Schmidt is #1 in can 3, nice to be associated with the famous!!
Yeah, Its strange to me to see many of the same people in the top positions across different "cans". I'd guess not that many are entered as there's no way 4 or 5 people could dominate every category.
Hello fellow Broadjammers, I just uploaded three new songs. All That (and More), Pedestrianica and Decay. Would appreciate any listens/feedback! Thanks!!
Great tracks Scott, brilliantly performed and produced. Decay is probably outside of my musical zone but I can appreciate how much is going on in the track. Do you have a band or is this a one-man band? Good work sir, you deserve success. Bob
Bob, thank you so much for your comments. I truly appreciate them!! I have friends of mine who play bass and drums for me but I write all the music/lyrics and point them in the direction I hear in my head! LOL! Fortunately, they are great musicians and are able to translate my suggestions well. I certainly leave it open to interpretation as well and let them do their thing as well. Thanks again and here's to success for us both!!
Thanks for the 5 star ratings as well Bob!
Thank you for your kind review of My Song Staying power.

Great news that CLASi Records are considering At Christma Time for inclusion in a holiday CD. Their comment: Beautiful & most touching! Thank you for submitting to our compilation Cd Contest. We have to say that we like the concept and genre that you went with for this project. It's Different and fresh and that's what we were looking for and is under consideration. Thank you again, from CLASi Records A&R Team. Very pleased and fingers are firmly crossed!

Goodbye is a really great track Scott. I can see why Missouri has taken it to their hearts!! Bob
Thank you for the kind words Bob! Best wishes and continued success!
Thanks for the great rating on Goodbye! Appreciate it!
Cool to have my first #1 song on a Top 10 list! (for Missouri) The song is called "Goodbye". Give it a listen if you get a chance! Thanks fellow Broadjammers! http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=96514&mediaID=632236 1
Hi Scott, Thanks for your review of Christmas Jig, very fair indeed. It was a bit of an improvisation with no great intention but it does get feet tapping and I enjkoyed playing it. I'm intrigued how you got to be reviewing a Christmas instrumental at this time of the year - I suppose the system just dealt it out?! Anyway, many thanks and good luck with your tracks - will try to listen to some tomorrow. Bob
Hey Bob, yes, I was just listening to/reviewing random tracks in the "General Rock" category and your song came up! Maybe that was a sub-genre or something? Either way, good work!
Officially released my new song "Tried to Run" today on iTune, Amazon etc. Take a listen if you get a chance and let me know what you think! And thanks!! http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.php?artistID=96514&mediaID=647193 1
Thanks for the 5 Star rating on my new song Tried To Run. Appreciate it!!
Thank you very much! Goodbye is definitely one of my favorites to date. I think the drop G tuning gives the song a unique guitar sound that works well here.
Hey Scott thanks for the kind review of "Living in the Trees" !! Jeff
For sure Jeff! Its all good!
