Thanks for reviewing "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Everyone Crazy" - I appreciate it!
Love your voice, you are truly talented.
Thank you very much! I just listened to "I am me- you are you" and gave it 5 stars - your retro vibe is really cool!
Thank you Luna, much appreciated! Do you collaborate with other artists? Asking because my voice is crap and would love to have a beautiful voice like yours on some of my songs! They're not all rock/pop.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Hi Jamey! Thank you for your kind comments! I'm digging your songs too and loving your vocals! Me thinks I've got a long ways to go before I get anywhere near your skills though!! Keep up the good work, hope to see your songs in the charts soon!
Thanks for your review of Secrets (Same as Murder). Always nice to hear some kind words about my art! I'm listening to Shine right now. I'm really digging your sense of melody!
Hey Lostfollicles! You gave us a GREAT review on our song "Everything" a couple of years ago so we hope you might enjoy the video below. Thanks, Cairo Fred http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dacSDI8Bti0 1
Hi Roy! Thank you for your phone call yesterday, which was a welcome surprise! I enjoyed our chat and appreciate your help, your input and helpfull comments! Rock & Roll Lostfollicles
LF, Backatcha....Best of luck to ya and let me know if I can help in any way....Phone Geek is awesome, love it.....Roy
Hey Lostfollicles - Reviewed both versions of "Geek" now. Love your tone and phrasing. You've got a great sound and know where to put the spaces to make it even better.
Hi Robert! Thank you for your kind comments! I've listened to your music and "Cupid & Psyche" is by far my favourite! Probably because I'm stuck in the Rock/Pop/Indie type groove! Keep up the good work and good luck in the future! Regards Lostfollicles
Thank you my bald brother. I appreciate your taking the time to check my tunes.
Hi Paul! I certainly do know Nigel Barrett! He's an awesome bass player and I'm lucky enough to in a band called "Guiri" with him over here in Spain but we never seem to find the time to get together to try out some ideas, and we have many! We also have very individual writing styles! But hey! Who knows one day!! I loved the sax you did for Nigel on "Charlie" your a gifted musician indeed! Regards Lostfollicles
I thought since you both live in the same location in Spain you probably knew him, but didn't know you played together. That's cool man. He's talented. I have to say I love your music too bro!!
Thanks Paul I appreciate your kind comments!I'm not as polished as Nigel but I think may'be we could make some interesting music together in the future! Watch this space! Although I'm not particularly a Jazz fan I really love Walter Becker and some of your music reminds me of his style! Nice relaxed stuff keep it coming!! Regards Lostfollicles
Do you know Nigel Barrett?
Yay! No. 1 in the Unique charts!
Congrats!!!
A well deserved no 1 Well done Nigel!
Hi Nige! Thanks for the positive review of Geek! It was meant to be short as it was for a new US music program which required a 60 second ditty! It has been reviewed by them but I don't think they are going with it! Fingers crossed though! Stef
Thanks for liking PhoneGeek! I gotta longs ways to go before I reach Cairo Fred's standard! You Guy's rock!!!!! All the best Lostfollicles.
Thanks for your generous review of our tune Everything. Many of us do love anything Walter and or Donald do but there not the specific inspiration for that tune. Loved Phone Geek. Bring the Lostfollicles from Spain, I'll bring Cairo Fred from DC and we'll share a gig in the Atlantic!
Hi Mr Jones Thank you for your anology of the 50/50 split! Totally makes sense! I guess as a total beginner I was shooting in the dark! Regards Lostfollicles
Better to take a shot in the dark than wonder what could have been... Keep going... Keep evolving. Good luck.
Thanks for listening. Your review is much appreciated.
Hola, thanks for the review of my song "New world". I appreciate it very much. I've been in Torremolinos by car many years ago in holiday (I think on 1998). Very nice night life there. Beautiful place... Osea
Thanks for the review of Vivian, very kind, like Tanya said, keep on trucking, in the 70's and 80's, they were great decades for music.
Hi Studio Nine! Thanks for info! As a beginner at this it looks like your book would be a sure investment! I'm not totally sure though at this stage whether I should think any of my songs are good enough to bother doing anything with! I live in hope! Kind Regards!
Hi Roy! Am I the only one on here that thinks publishers demanding a 50/50 split is not a tad greedy? Don't get me wrong! Without them the promotion of our music would be tough but a 50/50 split!! Come on!
LF....Thanks for your comment...This is the main reason why we post the terms of the agreement before submitting. If you are uncomfortable, then pass on it.....Regarding the split. It really depends on the opportunity, what is being split and the backend. .....Hope this helps, Roy
Lostfollicles, Like Roy says it depends, but as a general rule 50/50 is industry standard. A typical split is 50% of license fees each, 100% of writer royalties to the artist and 100% percent of publishing royalties to the company shopping the tune. Some companies will split publishing royalties, but not too many any more still do. You'll want to be aware of course if the deal is exclusive or non-exclusive. Often times exclusive deals will make an upfront payment for tracks but not split the license fees. If you're wondering about appropriate license fees, I have a guide available listing going rates for different types of placements. http://tinyurl.com/yfn64xw
LF....You should get a copy of Michael's guide. It is well worthwhile....Roy
Could be worst... You could be signed to a label that takes 85% which is backed by a publisher that takes 50% of the whole before you even see your 15%... Just thinking out loud. Way I figure... 50% of something is a lot better than 100% of nothing. "lets see, take 100% of nothing, add it to the 50% of nothing, and cary the nothing... :(" I'd consider taking the hit if only to get a few of your works out there. Once you're established... That would be the time to renegotiate the deal. Right now though... I'm still trying to get them to return my emails much less preview the work, so if you get the call back, I'd think about the pro's and con's before saying no. They know you're the one making the great music, but they also know they have the keys to that new car you want to have too, the trick is getting in to bed with some one that will work as hard to push your material as you worked on producing it. Do that... and they'll have certainly earned their 50%. At least in my mind... They'd have earned it. As much as we'd like to think this business is all about the artists... It really isn't. There is a business side that is unfortunately much larger than the music production process is. Hence... A lot of publishers that can do what some of us can't (IE drunk artist with zero social filter) get 50% for their efforts, and rightfully so in my mind. Hope its useful to you. Best: N
Hey there Lostfollicles!! (V.original name) Thank you so much for your positive review of my song "Free" and for complementing my vocals! Much appreciated! And by the way I love the fact that you are stuck in the 70's 80's cause THE greatest music was indeed written in those times couldn't agree more! I sing a lot of styles but am a Rock singer first and foremost even if we also compose Rock fusion (Middle Eastern touch), that glorious Rock feel timeless! Cheers t o ya!! Hi Billy Thank you for your review and ideas of Geek! Much appreciated! You either have some very talented musicians at your disposal or you are one seriously talented guy! Regards Lostfollicles
Yo 'Folly' Greatly appreciate the perfect score today on 'Here I Am Again" The vocalist, Amy Keys, is one of the most 'in-demand' studio singer's in LA and has been the lead back-up for Phil Collins and Joe Cocker for years! Head over to my page and listen to her work on "The Boy Can Dance", "Stealie Dan", and"Could I Love You More".........my daughter Brooke has a mega-chill version of "Could I Love You More" too! Once again, THANKS, and nice meeting you......welcome to Broadjam!
Thanks for reviewing my song, "The View". Glad you liked it! Ryan
Hi Roy! I feel very cheated!! The competition to win AmpliTude isoftware is only open to American and Canadian members! I don't think this is very fair for members like me or anyone else for that matter who live in other parts of the world! Yes that's right! There are other parts to the world!! Are "we" not good enough? Not having a go at you personally Roy I know it's not your fault!!
Lostfollicles, I appreciate your thoughts and my apologies as this is normally not the case. Let me look into this and I will get back to you on it.....Regards, Roy
This is a good question as it is unusual for us to run a limited competition of any sort. This was a condition put upon us by the manufacturer, which could very well have been put upon them by Apple. We don't like to do this, but it would be a shame to not offer the opportunity at all.
There certainly are equipment companies that DO offer international representation and Distribution.....use one of them next time...

I haven't tried the UX2 - is that the new one? I've heard the new one is great. Jeff Beck uses it on his new album.
