Hi Michael, Thanks for taking the time to review my song, Kids Want Santa. I appreciate you listening and providing your perspectives. While I'm here I'll check out a couple more of your songs. Be and stay well! Frank
Hey Michael, I just listened to your Christmas in Pink. Nice concept and solid arrangement. I've been using AI for vocals for the last six songs that I've done. I can't sing to save my life, and don't have the resources to hire vocalists for my various "pet projects" so using AI has been a lifesaver for me. Your AI vocal has some of the artifacts that I experienced early on. What platform are you using? I've been using ACE Studio and have been getting pretty decent results as I've learned more using it. Keep working at it and you'll get that AI vocal to really sound great. Frank
Thanks for rattling my cage about the low volume on a sax tune you reviewed......it's a very old track but I'll fix it......
Hi Michael, Thanks for the review of "Sunrise in the City". That's a short piece I wrote quite a while ago for a specific "use case". In fact, I was asked to compose a piece of music, about 2 to 3 minutes long for the following scene from a screenplay titled "Presidential Matters" written by Gene Adamson here in Omaha: "Riverfront Park, Nashville: The sun begins to shine on the city, beginning a new day. The rays cut through the fog and glisten on the river, as a barge glides over the water. Homeless people sit on the riverbank, staring blankly at another day of broken dreams." Gene loved the piece, but alas his screenplay didn't make it very far. But it was a really fun project. Thanks again for the review and your honest perspectives. Frank
Hello Michael. Thanks for the review of my vintage song lima beans. Yep I love em. There's a lima bean festival in NJ. I think that they used the song. Mrs Kate
GREAT JOB in every way on Kingdom Of Smoke! Truth! And well produced as well, kudos! Warren Hein
Hi Michael, Thanks for your reviews of "Back On Track" and "Second Skin". I appreciate you taking the time to listen and provide comments/perspectives. That intro on "Second Skin" was supposed to depict a dance club scene. The lyrical version of the song (which I haven't recorded/published) is actually the story of when I met a woman in a club wearing a skin-tight catsuit type outfit... thus the title Second Skin. Myself and the engineer (David Caniglia) can be heard talking about her. And you probably already noticed that the club music is actually the pre-solo section of Second Skin. Anyways... I'll have a listen to a song or two of yours while I'm here. Thanks and be well, Frank
Thank you Michael, for the 5*s on Lovin' into Me with hipsmithsix ~ Michael Smith. Certainly appreciate you stopping by, especially since I have been rarely on the site of late. Life sometimes will bring to us that which we need to put front and center. Hope you and yours are well and staying cool this summer!
Thanks for the review of "I'm In Awe" I agree with all the points you mentioned... yes I do need to bring it up to date with better lyric and master it as well. thanks again, Marvin
Thank you so much for all the Stars - on "Living For The Moment" Happy to know you enjoyed it. It's being considered for the Next Olympics and two feature films,..I have my fingers crossed! Cheers TK
THANKS FOR LISTENING TO MY SONGS
thanks for listening to expectations.
Hello Mike, Thank you for the connection and your kind words. I look forward to listening to your work soon! I'm off to work now; have a great week! Peace~ Cyndi
Hey, I just saw your review of ZPD. Thanks for the props! The note slide is a simple thing to do, but depending on how your DAW works (assuming you are working strictly "in-the-box"), it might prove obtrusive to figure out. For me, I use FL Studio 20, and I simple layer one midi note above the other on the piano roll. The key, though, is to enable the "slide" function by clicking on the note you desire to slide up/down to. It looks like an isosceles triangle. So the result will be a slide/pitch bend that the channel plays back/records. You could similarly pitch bend the note by recording that parameter as an automation clip when recording your playback. So if you had a fader, knob, or mod wheel that is linked to the pitch of the note, you could achieve the same effect, and have even more physical control over the expression of the note's playback. This is just how I would do it any FL Studio, but it should work in theory for any DAW or even DI instrument you are recording.
Thanks for sharing. I went back and listened, and you should be able to make some money off that ZPD music! I still like that freeform slide part. I'll try what you say. Good luck with your music!
Thank you very kindly sir. I am still looking for opportunities to submit it to. Good luck with your music as well!
MY FELLOW MEMBERS: DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY SUBMITTING TO FT0420__. Begins with FT0420__ Out of 397 songs submitted to 5 opportunities by Broadjam members, "0" Broadjam members songs were Considered. Zero Broadjam members were Selected. I Blocked my submitting to this provider. 397 songs submitted by Broadjam members to 5 opportunities and not one even considered.
Thanks Mike for looking out for us!
Congratulation on your many successes. You are one of the most likely to be Selected. Update, I just went through more BJ results by this provider and they selected 1 song (Considered no other songs). One song was selected out of an even 580 songs for 9 opportunities. So far the odds are .0017
Although I'm a big fan of Broadjam and they have helped boost my career in leaps and bounds, you do get the occasional charlatan (or should I say unprofessional) Music Of The Sea is an example, I first dealt with them 3 years ago when he asked for a dozen tracks of mine but when i sent them via Dropbox he never downloaded them? And six months ago he requested several more track (unexclusive) only to discover the contract stated EXCLUSIVE? and a week ago Broadjam got in touch to congratulate me on several tracks chosen for a library? He sent a link saying follow the link and they will send a contract so I did but the link failed? The link was to "Music Of The Sea" (lol). Their website looks good but I have no idea what they are playing at? All the best to you! David
Thank you for the 5-star rating for my "Action Music Trailer." You create great music and I often see you on Broadjam as one of the most successful members. -Mike
Thanks so much Mike, I really appreciate the comment. Good luck with all of your music projects!
very nice horns on Majesty buddy, this IMO is one of your best orchestral arrangements/authentic sounding! of course i haven't heard all of them--yet...keep up the good work sir!
Thank you, Mike for the 5 star on my song, I appreciate it!
Christmas
Some great music there Rich! Impressive.
Thank you for listening!
Mike, I just happened across your request for collaboration and am surprised that you haven't made any money from BroadJam. I too, have had the same experience of having been selected multiple times, without compensation. Have a look at our list of over 120 original compositions and let's exchange thoughts.
Yes.
Hey Mike would you be interested in colaborating on some of my stuff? Like your sax playing!
Yes! I love the Sax. It is my favorite instrument. To be honest, I don't own a Sax. I use three methods. I have a program that analyzes the wav file or MIDI file and creates a melody of real saxophonists playing melodies to the chords (Note: Recorded Real saxophonists playing riffs and melodies per each chord). I also am a good guitarist and use a Roland Guitar Synth with a great Saxophone (uses samples of a real saxophone) and I can use a keyboard also. A third method is other virtual Saxophones using MIDI programing (still learning this method). I notice you are using some type of virtual Sax.
Wow I'm blown away to learn that it's a virtual sax - sounds so authentic!!
Hi Mike give a listen to my songs to see if you would be interested in them. Thanks Bob Mau(broadjam0
Yes. I am interested. I am temporarily going through a music programing technology overload. I'm slightly lost. LOL. In the last few weeks I've updated two of my music programs to 2019 versions and purchased more virtual instruments and programing abilities. I want to listen to your songs and study the lyrics again soon. Thanks, Mike
Thanks Mike. Bob
Love before fear
Dear Mike, you just recently reviewed our song, "A Lonely Place To Be" and gave our song a marginal review. I usually don't reply to reviews from fellow Broad Jam Members, but you mentioned, that our composition would sound better, if there was a Sax in the Song. Ahhhh, there is a Sax in the tune. You might go back and listen to our tune again, the Sax in the song is pretty sweet! Just wanted to clarify this point. Thanks for the review...... Onward & Upward........ The Corey's.......
I went back and listened. I would take the Vocal out and replace it with a Sax throughout this particular song. Maybe as a second, alternate Instrument version. Nice 'Vette. I am looking to buy the latest model used. But, that's somewhere between $40k and $60k used. The previous generation is nice, too.
it's an astronaut breathing inside his helmet - after all, there is no oxygen on Mars.
Very nice songs Dennis. Good lyrics and good songs.
Hi Mike, I see you're hoping to Collaborate on some songs. Can I check if you accept Lyrics only, or is the actual melody required also. I have a Lyrics that I think is perfect for today's market (Club Scene, Dancing, etc) and have a melody idea, but not documented. Is this something we could work with. Thanks, Denis Hackett.
Yes! Lyrics, melody ideas, anything. I am all over the place in genres trying anything and everything. I will protect whatever you send me and I will ask you if I want to bring someone else in with more expertise in a certain area (meaning someone with the "magic"). I can generate music ideas and you can choose what you like, such as the speed of the song (beats per minute). I will hire vocalists. Whatever it takes. No cost to you. You own 100% of what you start with and if the two of us collaborate or three of us, we will agree on sharing the rights and that creation stands as a totally separate version. If you don't like the created version, without your rights in agreement, it all ends. So you have control. TalentEast@aol.com (East because I'm on the East Coast by the Atlantic Ocean)
Great. I'll put some thoughts on paper about how I see the Melody fit with the Lyrics, and send you copy. We can take it from there.
Full, deep sound, nice flew, good harmony, feel growing danger
