Recipes By Me is such a great song! The guitar playing is excellent, and the singer is amazing!!! Love it! Ady
Thanks so much Ady! Our song sang on it - he was only 10 at the time so people can't really tell if it's a boy or girl, but it really didn't matter! The little kid singing your song was adorable too!
How old is your son today? He's very talented!
Today is his birthday so he just turned 16.
Wow, mazal tov! Is he still singing?
Yes, he sings all the time but we didn't record him on any new songs yet.
lol, just noticed my typo in the first comment! Our SON sang on it, not our song!
Thanks for adding me. I am looking forward to listening to more of your music!
Hi Roy, Regarding Opportunity FT11FO03 (http://www.broadjam.com/delivery/submission.php?contest_id=3398) - they were looking for sad, somber ballads for a film based on Edgar Allan Poe. I submitted my song Annabel Lee, which is a a song I composed to Edgar Allan Poe's lyrics. I thought it would be perfect for this film. It is a somber, sad, haunting ballad about love, loss, heartache and longing - exactly what they wrote in their description, AND it was written by Poe himself. I have a feeling that they might have missed that point. Could you please be so kind as to bring to their attention that this is a song with lyrics by Poe? I see that in almost all of the licensing opportunities here, the songs being selected are the ones getting the highest ratings. In this case I think you should tell these people about the Poe connection, because the people who rated the song couldn't have known it from the anonymous rating system you have here. I appreciate your kind help, Ady
Ady, Thanks for the note and your question. I have asked our licensing manager to review this....Of the songs selected, 50% have a rating of 80% or higher, 25% are between 40 & 80 and 25% of the selections are under 40. We require all providers to listen to every submission, so the rating is just a guideline for your reference. Supervisors pick songs for any number of reasons and sometimes we are impressed by their selections and other times we are shocked. It really comes down to their opinion and theirs alone......BTW: I pitched Latin Holiday and Feel The Heat to an unlisted project we are working on. I'll let you know if we get any interest.....Best of luck, Roy
Hi Ady - Thank you for your inquiry. We have responded to your question via email. Please send your future customer-service questions to customerservice@broadjam.com. Thank you
Dear Roy, Thank you very much for your reply - I already received an email from your guys saying that they will let the opportunity provider know about the Poe lyrics. I really appreciate your kindness in pitching my music. You're doing a great work! Best wishes, Ady
"I thought it would be perfect for this film...I have a feeling that they might have missed that point." Hi Ady, for what it's worth I've felt this many times! More often than not, I interpret an opportunity, based on it's description, differently from others. I listen to what they've picked, then listen to my piece and say wow, I was way off on that. But it made sense to me to submit based on the description. So I really like it when an opportunity's description offers an audio example that we can listen to that shows exactly what they are looking for. What would really be nice though is if broadjam let users listen to what others have submitted before we submit ourselves. That way we could really get a feel for how others are interpreting the opportunity!
Hi, Thanks for your review of my track "It Is Coming". I don't actually understand how come this track came up for review - I didn't open it up for reviewing! It's not the first time, though, that I get reviews here on Broadjam about tracks I didn't want reviewed... They have some bug in the system here for sure... Getting back to your constructive comments, I thank you for them and I agree with them - but you should know that this track is from 1994, it was composed for an Israeli feature film which was a very big hit called "Song of the Siren", directed by Eytan Fox ("Walk On Water", "The Bubble"). At that time I didn't even have my own computer, so all the programming was done at an exterior studio... Of course that by today's standards this MIDI work doesn't sound as well as it would have were it produced today. I submitted it to an opportunity here, and as I said, didn't want it reviewed... It doesn't mean I don't like it, but I certainly know that it can sound better. Please listen to some of my other tracks, such as "The Jump" from "Dangerous Acts", a feature film which won me the Israeli "Oscar" for best music. This was performed by a real orchestra, so I'm sure you'll be able to appreciate it. Thanks! Ady
Ady: Now thats a shocker. I know there are a few artists that have had a great deal of success on Broajam, but your history is an entirely different matter, and I certainly understand your concern about receiving reviews on tracks that aren't supposed to be available. Early 90's... Yep... That sounds about right. I'll have to swing by to hear what you're doing 20 years later. Like I said in the review, great cue and perfect for something relevant to suspense, it makes sense that it was part of a larger soundtrack. Thank you for the history... It really puts into perspective the variety of material a person may find in reviews and the importance of not being overly critical. Hope your day is well. Best: N
Your words are truly kind and I thank you for them! Good luck with your work and please keep in touch. Ady
Dear Chet, Thank you so much for your detailed and constructive review of my song "Annabel Lee". I really appreciate your comments and your experience! Only one thing about the lyrics for that song: you couldn't have known it listening to the song, but they were actually not written by me, but by Edgar Allan Poe! So obviously he wasn't thinking about today's listeners when writing his song... Still, it was great reading your helpful comments! Regards, Ady
Hey Adv, Thanks for the nice note. I have been a great fan of Poe's for years and there was something "knocking" (Knock, knock, knocking" ak "the Raven") about the story line...and I couldn't put my finger on it....while I listened to the cool music track. One of my favorite bits of insight about Poe was his belief that the "highest form of art" was the combination of music and words. he would have made a hell of a songwriter, eh? Anyway, let's stay in touch. Let me know when you have new music posted. I just posted two new songs, "Sunday Morning" and "Good Times" at my site....Pop on some good earphones and give them a listen. Best................Chet
Ady, Congrats!! Great to see you winning the song of the month contest......looks like you've figured out the ins and outs of Broadjam! All the best, Martie Echito
Dear Martie, Thank you very much! I also saw that one of your tracks was considered, or selected, for licensing, congratulations! Hope all is well, Ady
Congrats.... hope all is fine with your family.... did you finally decide which mic works best for your wife? What's new with the latest musically for you now? ..... terrific to see you get some recognition here in the states..... your talent deserves it ....
Dear Jim, thanks for your kind note! I'm sending you an email with my reply.
Ady, Congrats on making the top 10 in Jazz Swing with 'Intimate Meeting'. and I see you have met some other artists originally from Calif. and now in Jerusalem.... super ! I am so glad you chose to begin submitting on Broadjam and breaking into the U.S. market.... getting your music heard over here.... Jim Covington
Hi Jim, Good to hear from you and thank you for your kind and supportive comment! Warm regards, Ady
Shalom, we found you in the Israel top 10 sharing songs alongside ours... nice to see other artists in Israel! We're in Jerusalem, originally from California, also write for TV/film, artists, etc. Wonderful music, please be in touch... www.taxi.com/songrivermusic, www.broadjam.com/songrivermusic
Hi (guys? girls?), Very kind of you to connect and comment. How many are you? And what does each one of you do? I listened to some of your songs and they are beautiful. Keep in touch, Ady
Hi Ady, Husband/wife team - I do lyrics/music, he does mostly music, none of his songs up here yet though. We do many styles, this a very tiny sampling. I also collab with other singer/songwriters/producers all over the world, in an LA music library providing songs for TV/film there, but looking to get into the market here more too. L'hitraot, Chana
Very nice to hear. Please keep in touch! If you'd like to collaborate on something, let me know... Ady
Hi Ady, that would be great! I found your e-mail on your website, just sent you a mail.
Just got the email - I'm a bit busy right now so I'll have a look and a listen in the next few days and get back to you. Thanks! Ady
Ayn baya, kulonu asukim ;). We're all connected to "Mission Impossible" - one of our collaborators/bandmates is Yonason Hill, son of Stephen Hill, the famous actor from Mission Impossible & Law & Order (plus my friend's uncle wrote the script for the show, small world). They always throw in that Mission Impossible theme song at gigs for fun & an inside joke!
Stephen Hill is really a very good actor! Didn't know he was Jewish...
Hi Mike, Thank you very much for your kind review of "Beautiful Past". I appreciate it! Regards, Ady
you are welcome Ady
Hi Louise, Thank you very much for your review of "Intimate Meeting"! I listened to your songs and you have a beautiful voice. I especially like "Heart of a Dead Man". Please keep in touch, Ady
Hi Ady, I had a look at your bio and a few songs after I reviewed "Intimate Meeting". You are clearly very talented. I am so impressed with such an eclectic mix of music. Annabel Lee is just the most beautiful song, I love the story-telling quality. Great melody but harmonically very interesting too. I appreciate your compliment of my voice but I'm not a singer. I work with what I've got! If you have any time, I'd love some constructive criticism of my song-writing. All the best with your music. Louise
Dear Louise, Thank you very much. I'm glad you like "Annabel Lee". The lyrics are by Edgar Allan Poe, so of course the lyrics are amazing... I hope the music does the lyrics justice... I'll listen to your songs again and let you know my thoughts. In the meantime, Take care, Ady
congratulations on the competition win, you deserve it with the composition you submitted! Your use of interesting layers and harmonic structures is impressive - keep up the good work.

Ady, I signed up for your program and now have a Profile page...I am still understanding it all. I will be reading more about this wonderful program still. I will check out some of the projects that are under going. So far, it sound like a place for an idealist to move ahead with a great ideas and to get help with funding? Am I close? I see your wife sings opera...that is wonderful! Are you gonna release a copy of the opera after it is played in theater? And where is it play'n at? I haven't read that yet. (I have a problem being a skim reader anyways) I've identified this in my life and try hard to slow down and absorb all the words that I read>"Know wonder they took speed reading out of the classroom!" :) I was unfortunate to learn this type of reading, i.e. finding the important words out of sentences? Anyways, Ady, I am still absorbing this site. You really have a wonderful project going! Just wonderful. Can't wait for the production!
Hi Lori, Thank you for the encouraging, warm words! Kickstarter seems like a great place for artists, or anyone with a creative project, to try and get funding for their project. The idea is that you set up an amount which would allow you to make your project materialize, and then try to convince people to donate money - any amount, even $1 - towards the final amount. The monies people agree to donate would only be given to the artist if the final amount is reached. If, after the deadline is over, the final amount is not reached, everything is canceled and no one gives any money. The fun thing is that the artist also promises rewards for donations. You can see the list of rewards on the right side of the page. The more money you give, the more valuable the reward. I really hope we'll be able to get $50,000. This project is important, both artistically and socially, because it has the potential to appeal to people with various tastes and from different countries - there's no language, only music and singing in an especially-created language. Thanks a lot for your interest Lori!!! Bye for now. Ady
By the way, even if you don't or can't donate money, you can comment on the project on the comments tab on the page. Your comments would be highly appreciated! Ady
