And your rating of mine! Haven't listened to all your compositions yet but they are great. Go Aussie!
Good day all, I put up a new version of Scene1 today, Cut the piece in half, down to 1 minute add some strings and fixed simplified the base part. I like this version, please let me know what you think. Thank you for your time Sincerely, David
I like it and agree that this version is better than the original.
Feels good to be on top of the charts
Congratulations!
Excellent!
Thanks for reviewing storm. Fair comments and working on improving those aspects you pointed out. Your answer to Davids question below is useful to me as well as I need to upgrade my studio as well.

Thanks for your comments on a walk through the bush. Totally agree with them. Would appreciate some input from you regarding sound pallets if you have time and feel that I might have to start by upgrading my hardware and software. Will definitely follow your advice re mixing. Thanks again

Here are some interesting articles. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/apr10/articles/notes_0410.htm 1 http://www.filmmusicmag.com/?p=6145 2 http://www.canadianmusicartists.com/samples_and_mixing.html 3 This one contrasts several strings libraries. http://composerfocus.com/string-sample-library-roundup/ 4
When looking at sample libraries, listen to the demos they offer and be aware that some of the sample in the demo may not be in the particular library you are scoping out. I strongly encourage anyone to set up a stereo system in the same conical position as their reference monitors. Examine other song, see how they are produced. Take notes (on paper) on stereo placement of instrument elements. Notice the dynamic contrast between solo instruments and whole sections, and how whole sections contrast with other whole sections in stereo placement as well as dynamics, and over all volume. Engaging in this exercise before and during production will help you make well founded decisions about your production and keep you focused and on track about how it "OUGHT" to sound.
This is really helpful and I appreciate you input. Looks like I'll be busy for a while upgrading my knowledge and setup. Great advice. Thanks again!
You're quite welcome. I hope it helps.
Thanks for your very positive review of Storm David - you've made my day!
