A really beautiful piece; memorable. Very nicely produced as well. Best wishes.
Thanks for your feedback Tom!
A very tuneful melody, Good work Tom
Very nice work Tom, Great work on the instruments.
You beat me out in a recent opportunity with "Radio Flyer", and deservedly so. Man, I wish I could have written this for my boys. Still dryin' my tears. I wish you the best of luck. Stick with it, please, you've got what it takes.
Thank you, Tom. I really appreciate those kind words. Best of luck to you as well.
Tom, "You Never Know" Indeed! ... Really Enjoyed That One ... Love The Unpredictable Chord Progression And Your Top Notch Vocal ... Great Work All Around ... Best Wishes For Wherever Life & The Music May Lead You ... J Nelson K
Was reviewing your song "Loved By You" which was selected to a recent opportunity (my song "You Never Know" wasn't). Just wanted to say congratulations and I really like you lyrics to this! Listened to a few others on your page and also really like "Good Luck With That" Keep it up!
Was reviewing your song "Never Let You Go" from the list of Select Songs you succeeded in placing to (my song "You Never Know" didn't make it), and just wanted to say I really like your lyrics to this one. Your a good craftsman, keep it up!
Thanks so much Tom :-) Keep plugging away. There are COUNTLESS failures for every little success.
I browsed to your songs after reviewing "Considered Songs" for an opportunity you'd submitted "You Never Know" to, because I also have a song titled "You Never Know", which I'd also submitted (unsuccessfully) to the same opportunity. May the better lyricist win! Congratulations on being considered! I listened to most of your (non) instrumentals because I always have my antenna up for better lyrics than I manage. The song that hit me the most was "The Journey"; powerful, motivating concept. Also loved the premise under "Bigger", and "Sixteen Candles" was a delight. But, I like my "You Never Know" better. :-) [Just kidding - really]. You're a very good lyricist! Keep it up, and Best Wishes, t
Hi Tom- Thanks so much! It's helpful to hear the songs they picked when they weren't mine... sometimes I say "really?!!" and I suppose sometimes people say that about mine! This business is that way: sometimes all the hills are up, right?
Just listened to "All We Ever Have Is Now" after noting it had made the Top 10 Folk Chart. Want to let you know I love the concept of this song! Keep at it, and best wishes!
Hi Tom, I recently learned about you and your beautiful songs through a mutual submission. Congrats on your all your great news! All my best, Kelly Riley www.kellyriley.net
Kelly, thank you for your encouraging words. All the best to you as well !!

Just noticed you sent a message to me quite a while ago, but it doesn't include any text.
Hi Roy. Just a thought for an idea for next year's 6-pack if possible. Instead of just scoring the top 20 songs in any can on a sliding scale, how about scoring the top 30. You would still only show the top 20 positions, but this would mean someone with songs in the 22nd and 28 th positions, which is still quite impressive, wouldn't necessarily get squeezed out of a top 20 spot by someone with tons of song submissions (none of which may even be close to top 20 but they score a single point per song submission, and so can knock out some worthier songwriting talent). Just an idea. Thoughts?
Doug, Thanks for the feedback. Every year we tweak the 6-Pack and your input is timely. I am not sure what changes will be made, but we will address all of the suggestions that come in. All the best, Roy
Thanks Roy. I really appreciate how you address members' concerns. Part of what makes me proud to share Broadjam with my friends from all over.
Hi Roy, long time since we've corresponded! How's everything? I notice a major increase in broadjam's daily postings of licencing opportunities. Just wondering what's going on "behind the scenes". I guess you've reached out to a bunch of new opportunity providers? Looks like maybe ad agencies and song shoppers? Are you expecting to or have already seen a proportional increase in placements? What can you tell us? Thanks for any info!
Michael, Thanks for this. As you pointed out, we have aggressively reached beyond film and tv into labels and agencies. It's a little too early to tell, but generally our numbers have been consistently around 9-11% for years. While I do expect more licensing and placement deals as the volume increases, I believe the percentage will stay about the same. Label deals are little more difficult, but we feel we have made some strong inroads into the pop & r&b worlds. Agency deals are a less difficult, but there is a lot of good competition here as well. We'll keep trying. Thanks for your observation and all the great dialogue. Best, Roy
Hey ROY--still in a lot of pain--but I managed to get to the library today for a little bit--THANXS FOR EVERYTHING--I might be back in action soon! Been pretty warm here in Florida--Hope all is well with you and your family--cheers--joe
Hey Joe, Thanks for the note and glad you are up and around. All the best to you. Roy
Hi Roy! Just a suggestion... about the page that always pops up after you submit a song... that "What would you like to say to the reviewer" page. It would be nice to see that automated. I save a notepad file with per-song comments I want to enter, always have to browse for that file, open it, select, copy, paste. I really do know how lazy I am, but it's a repetitive task. it would be nice if those per-song comments were extracted and saved/updated when the page is submitted, and then auto re-populated next time the songs gets submitted??? Best wishes for your holidays!!
Hey Tom, Thanks for the suggestion. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do. I'll check with the guys. All the best to you as well. Roy
Hi Roy Many thanks for including my piano pieces in top jazz. Best regards John Wayre
Roy, I have to say congratulations on your success with BroadJam. I just started doing song reviews again after a 7 year hiatus, and am amazed at the vast improvement in quality. Thanks again for BroadJam.
John, Congrats. Good work. Pursuit, Glad to have you back in action. Best of luck, Roy
Thanks for the 5 star rating on When You Were Here Roy! I really appreciate it!

Hi Claire, just came across "Some Things You Don't Throw Away". Loved it! Best wishes!
Hi Tom, A quick thank you for a fair review of Grand Old Man Of Rock N Roll - it's by no means my finest work, a bit of a filler really. I gave it a listen today and completely take your observation about the reverb. Thanks again and good luck with your own projects. Bob
Hi Tom, thanks for the review on Goodbye looks good on you. I've been arguing with my producer over the same thing for months. I couldn't have said it better. Thank you. CC
Thanks for your review of In His Eyes. Appreciate your time and comments. Have a great rest of the week. ~M
Got (another) notice that my Song "You Never Know" made the Folk-Country chart this morning and went browsing the other 9 songs. Heard "Roundabout" for the first time and was immediately impressed. Then listened through a number of your other songs. Just want to say I'm envious of your lyrical skill; great story teller and clever with your rhyme. Keep it up! t.
5 Stars! I really appreciate that coming from you Tom. I've been in Truckee, beautiful place. The best...Rae
Rae: just tripped across your song list and been listenin' for almost an hour. You've a pretty good way with words! Keep it up and best wishes.
Many thanks Tom. Nobody but my wife and a few captive audiences have ever done that to my knowledge! Checked out your site and listened to all, not a get even thing at all, I really enjoyed them. Thanks for getting me back to Broadjam been away for a while. Rae
Hi! Was just reviewing for Modern Americana Songs and Instrumentals: FT12GR11 and heard "Honey Come Dance With Me". Went searching for it guessing the title. Love this song and the lyrices by yourself and your partner Krisztina! (Hungarian spelling, I note. I travel to Hungary regularly). I usually struggle with lyrics; do you ever collaborate? Anyway, best of luck with this one! (I rated it best!!!)
Thank you for writing -- I think your music is lovely , too, and am honored by your words. What do you do ion Hungary??? am very curious. Patty
I've left 3 messages at customer service and feedback email about this over the last week and have heard nothing. :-( The issue is that because your opportunities orginate from multiple email addresses and even multiple domains, it is impossilbe to configure Outlook's spam blocker to "Always allow this sender" or "Always allow this sender's domain". I have multiple times wondered why I'm not seeing the normal frequency of opportunities, only to go the the spam bucket and find a dozen or so, some no longer open. You need to arrange that all opportunities originate from a single fixed email address or you are losing eyeballs!!
Tom, Thanks for the good question. All of our opportunities are scheduled to come from the same email. However, our notifications from our website may come from different addresses and domains. With that said, there should only be few addresses and domains that our emails come from. I am going to ask one of our staffers to look into this in more detail. Thanks again for the great comment.....Regards, Roy
Tom - I really don't care much for contempory country music. I like the more tradition stuff, and your's is great. I hope you keep it up. Charlie Wood

"The Only Secret Safe With You" is a freakin great song! Nicely done.
Thanks Tom, it's nice to hear that from someone I don't know! I checked out the songs you had posted too - very nice stuff.
"Easy With You" came up during a peer review. Went digging to try to find it so I could get it added to my playlist. Maybe a few too many syllables in the 3rd line of 1st verse, but I love this song, and the production is sweet. Really nice tune!
Thanks Tom, much appreciated. Checked out your page, and really like "You Never Know"!
I've known this guy all my life. He HAS been writing songs since forever. I have reel to reel versions of some of his early work! Reel good tunes!
Found Roundabout today when my own "You Never Know" made the Top 10 Folk-Country. Then I found "Doghouse Flowers". You've got what it takes! Keep it up! Tom Ballister
Thanks, Tom. "You Never Know" is a beautiful song. Is that you on vocals? best, davie
Yes, the vocals are mine. Best Wishes, t
