Thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene"!
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies"! I miss Austria - such a beautiful country. My favorite place in the whole world is Tirol.
Put the final radio ready version of "Out On the Scene" up here. Official release for the single is October 29th. :)
I just lost my BEST FRIEND today :( .............I will be away hoping to absorb this? God Bless everyone...and tell everyone you love...that you love them! I DID get to tell my friend this this morning!
Lori I'm sorry to hear of another loss for you. It seemed like yesterday your other friend had passed away so young. My thoughts are with you and others that cared for your friend as well.
So sorry, Lori.
hey lori--my condolences to ya--i lost one back in july--gotta keep going--one day at a time--peace--joe.
So sorry to hear that Lori, my thoughts are with you
Lori, very sorry for your loss. I don't know you, but I wanted to give you a link to a song. I wrote this song for my mother, who passed in August. I have since had a whole lot of people tell me that the song has helped them too. If you would like to listen to it, it is called "In Heaven" and you can find it on my website at www.bryanshayne.com.
Death is no easy thing. It destroys every single plan made. May yours remain intact. Condolences to you, Lori.
sorry for you loss. I will pray for you and your friends family.
thanks---t-bone--kind of you to do that--cheers-joe.
I'M SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS...YOU'RE IN MY PRAYERS
thanks bullet--he was one of my best friends for about 15 years--best truck mechanic in south west florida too--joe.
Mann I know how it is to loose a best friend....I lost my best friend to a work related accident and it took a lot out of me but I try to remember the "good times" we had and not his death or the way he died...
Also sorry to hear about your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you as well.
they are immortal in thoughts and heart, when you create an action with them in mind, you then become an extension of them. Much love and blessings to you
WoW everyone...THANK YOU! I just got home from a long teary day and to see all this love is just amazing....Thank you new and wonderful friend...I am so blessed here on Broadjam. Thank you my friends! Love all!
Hi Lori , Condolence to you , I know what is the feeling ...You are with your friend in your heart , may be the only way it is , we all will be someday just some images and some sounds in the others' minds as some others are now in ours ... Always good times don't let people to forget their loss , worth to remember again and again and again though ...
Thinking of you Lori
Sunday we put my friend "Beef" to rest. He has a wonderful funeral, over 200 of friends and family showed and also a simple ride. A very close friend to us/Beef was expecting a baby and on Monday little "Beef Jr." was born!!! Pix are on my fb. Now today: After writing a few minutes to relieve my stressed mind I became so overwhelmed and my words became a prayer as I started voicing out loud balling my eyes out...got to these words and a miracle happened...."Beef my friend show me that you are here not just in my tears" :and my friend (the ones whom had the baby) texted me a silly nasty text that made me laugh right then!!!! YEP...that is sign enough for me!!! WOW HE TRULY IS ... BEEF JR. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS ALL! :) I think today was my break down I can move on and enjoy family and friends for the up coming weekend! I will have a lot of out of state and local friends staying with me this weekend and attending MY SON'S WEDDING! WOW...I am getting old! Just sharing the circle of life! Wonderful! :)
Lou - thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene". I was trying to be stubborn with the two up here and do most of everything myself, but I have lost the battle with the suits and it is back with the big boys to recut. I have finished all the vocal work and as I understand, it will be radio ready in a couple of weeks. I'll replace the one on here with that version when its done. Cheers!
Thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene".
Hi Bryan, thanks for the note. I'm not as high a scorer as some others, I'm usually thinking a "5" means "I could hear it now on the radio recorded by a well known singer without any changes." I like the tune, and I think you've got a good future.
I call 'em like I see 'em and I would hope that everyone else does too. Thanks.
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies".
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies". I def agree with the mariachi cuts. I wish I could have gotten more out of them, but there was a language barrier there. lol! I had been trying to figure out what sounded off vocally and you might have found it. It was already slated to go back to mixing and new vocals were gonna be cut on the big dog microphones when I got back to Nashville, but I may try your suggestion and do some sample cuts to see if that changes the feel a little. Thanks again.
Good luck Bryan. Remember the little people when that song goes big!!!
Thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene". I agree with you comments for improvement and had already sent it back to mixing with a Nashville house.
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies". Your review is dead on for what we are going back to the studio to fix already with instrumentation, etc and vocal recuts.
THANKS BIG "B "
Thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene". It is a fun song to play live and dance to.
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies". I agree with the production comment, but there was no autotune used. lol! Just not the most professional recording. The vocals are being recut and it is being remixed by a Nashville big dog - so, hopefully it will sound better. Thanks again.
Thanks for your review of "Margaritas Make Babies"! I agree about the clarity and the song is actually going to be remixed soon.
Thanks for the review of "Out On the Scene"! Gonna check some of your songs out this afternoon. Cheers!
you are welcome !
Thanks again for the review of "Margaritas Make Babies". I've been trying to get yours to play all morning, but i think I am having some streaming problems. I'll try again tonight.
Thanks for your review of Margaritas Make Babies. I agree with pretty much every category, but one. The song is actually being re-edited and mixed now and vocals are scheduled to be recut. You were spot on with what we were already doing.
Your welcome Bryan. Best of luck with the project, I know you will do it up right. Now where's my salt shaker!
lol! I'm still searchin' for it!
thanks for your review of "Out On the Scene" Ronnie. Gonna take some time this weekend and listen to yours. I love good Christian music! Even some of us honky tonk guys have a foundation in things much higher than ourselves.
thank you for your review Cynthia. i really like your title idea. Might even go that way.
hey Patricia - I really liked "Dial 1-800-Dream On". It has a Miranda Lambert/Pistol Annie's esque feel to it. Hopefully, you can somehow get their ear for this one...
THANKL YOU, Bryan Shayne! I appreciate your suggestions-- great.
Thankls for the suggestions for Dial 1-800 Dream On. If it isn't picked up (now under consideration) I'll follow up on the hot fiddle and the link to the bridge. It's a pleasure when a reviewer knows what he/she's talking about. Now I'm going to listen to one of yours....hmmm...
Thanks Patricia. I really liked the song - hopefully, you have some good people pitching it for you.
Add a comment...
Sorry, new here and don't know what the expectations are.
Thanks for the review of Cars, Trucks and Buses! Great songs you have. Love Out On The Scene. Best of luck!
Thanks! I really like the get up and go of your song. I'm gonna check out more of them tomorrow.
out on the scene--ha!! pretty cool song--i like it--this one might be a country music hit somewhere--great singing,music,lyrics--fun flow to it--not hard to understand--got a nice spirit to it--i gave it 5 stars--see ya--joe---this is honky tonk music at it's finest !
Thanks Joe!!! It had some A-List players on it and the version thats up here is not even the mastered version and it has scratch vocals on it. I came to Nashville last week to talk to some of the Blackbird engineers and may fly back soon to recut the vocals. It is with one of the big time Nashville mixing engineers now and hopefully will be back out soon and can be ready for radio release.
i want to hear it,when you get it done--that recording studio at trinity city in hendersonville, tennessee is the best--conway twitty's old place--
I didn't know it was Conways old place? I just have connections to the McBrides so, I got a private tour of the facility. I have to admit, the mixdown room was jaw dropping!
yes--conway had his own recording studio--concert hall--mansion etc...he was related to the kenyon brothers who lived close to me in the old days in boone county-indiana--hell-i used to see him at the truck stop in indiana eating dinner with them--don and mel kenyon were race car drivers etc...i had a really nice time one time at trinity city--i was with all of the winan family-they had a family reunion there and i went down at the holiday inn express to see why there were so manyblack people at the inn--they invied me to their family reunion show there--it was really cool--mom and pop winans were the best--gospel music at it's finest--you can take a tour of that recording studio any time you want--just make a reservation--no big deal--it is the one across from the house of cash--johnny's old place--cheers--joe.
they call me nashvillejoe for a reason--ha ha--hope you have a great week--joe.
Oh, I thought you were saying that Blackbird used to be Conway's. The studio I went to is owned by John and Martina McBride and from what they were telling me, at least 60% of all radio releases coming out of Nashville are either recorded and/or mixed down there. I would like to tour Conway's place, but I never have time when I fly in. They keep me on a leash pretty good.
sorry--trinity city is owned by tbn--wow!! that is pretty cool--i really like martina mcbride--have for a long time--yes--you can go to trinity city and check the place out--they hve two theaters there--church concert hall--pretty neat place--conway history stuff too--till next time--peace--joe.
Yep, I am a big Martina fan. Anybody who puts so much of themselves out in their voice has my respect. She can sure belt out some songs. A friend of mine wrote "Your Love Amazes Me" for John Berry and because John B. is the same type of singer as Martina, I really wanted my friend to write a duet for both of them. That would have sounded awesome! I think it would have had the same type of energy that the RF/Natasha B. song "Easy" has. That's a pretty awesome song too.
hey-i got to attend a burns and poe show a couple of weeks ago--i liked them pretty good--they were pretty tight--see ya--joe.
I haven't caught them yet. I'm gonna have to check them out on your recommendation!
burns was in a band called /trick pony/you can find burns and poe on face book--see ya-joe.
I remember Trick Pony. Shame they broke up...
CHECK OUT MY SONG/CHRISTMAS BLUES/I WROTE THAT IN HONOR OF MY OLD FRIEND--BOBBY HELMS--JINGLE BELL ROCK FAME--SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF THE OLD TIMERS I USED TO HANG WITH ARE DEAD--GEE,I MUST BE GETTIN OLD--ALMOST 58 YEARS OLD AT THAT MYSELF--CHEERS--JOE-------GUESS I GOTTA MAKE SOME NEW FRIENDS!
maragaritas make babies--ha ha--pretty cool song--a little jimmy buffert sentiment there-i see a lot of those tropical drinks here in florida--i often wonder why jimmie buffet isn't the governor of florida--cheers--joe.
Ha ha! Thanks! I love Jimmy Buffett! He has some of my favorite lines in a song for "Pirate Looks At 40". I actually wrote this song for Kenny Chesney during his boat drinks phase, but kept it instead of pitching it.
i was looking at kenny chesney's website a couple of years ago--i only looked at 2 songs he had on there--i don't remember what they were--all i can remember is that they were both downloaded over 22 million times each--now that is a lot of downloads--at least 99 cents each i am sure--i think that song is a hit!--go for it my friend--if you need a collaborater--i'll be willing to help--my two best friends died just before i could get a breakthru with anything--it was really sad--jim and jon hager--the famous twins who starred on hee haw--we were friends for about 15 years--see ya--jope.
I remember them! I used to love Hee Haw when I was a kid. I wanted to wear coveralls with red plaid shirts like Roy and Buck when they were on there. lol! I still rib my kids with forcing them to listen to me sing "where oh where are you tonight". lol! Yeah, getting Kenny to record one of your songs is a pretty big payday, but I was kinda dead set on doing it myself. Its in the pub domain now - he can record it if he wants to. ha ha! "Out On the Scene" was written with Alan Jackson in mind, but I lost my contacts to him and don't have a means to pitch to him. Oh well, guess I'll just have to bring it to life myself. ;)
that's the spirit!--i do a lot of poetry shows here in florida over the past 16 years--i haven't done much of it for two years-before jim hager died-he called and got permission for one of his friends to do some of my poetry--i was honored to say yes--i don't remember who it was--kinda like 1985 when i wrote a song for john denver--he sent me the thank you note and i forgot what the song was--ieeeeeeeee crap--too much beer i guess at the time--somebody told me,it was probably rocky mountain high--oh boy--there went the neighborhood-gotta go--i'll chat again sometime--out--joe.
lol - well, if it was Rocky Mountain High, then that's a lot of missed royalties!
i hung my head a cried over that one--see ya--joe.
I bet!
thanks for reviewing my song--sober man--it was just a simple demo--i agree about the extra music etc...some like it--some don't--OK by me--cheers--joe.
No problem Joe. I loved the lyrics to this song. Do a full production of it and I would buy it.
Well congratulations!!! Getting past such adversities says a lot about the makeup of a person. Can't wait to hear more stuff Joe!
i got 17 compositions put together for the recording- record here--some like them, some don't ,OK by me either way--hope your future is a great one with the music biz--cheers--joe.
Thanks Joe! I'll be looking for your songs to do big things.
Joe, I get the feeling on here that people are just looking for someone to blow smoke about they're music. You give an opinion on the review section and if its not perfect people get there feelings hurt and lash out at you. I have been in and around the music business for a long time and I play for me now. I don't have aspirations to be a superstar - I have had my deal in the majors and gave it up for my kids. I am having fun, doing my own music and I really don't care whether or not I make money at it - I am already setup in my life. So, why are so many people on here who haven't "made it" trying to be so hateful to those who are honest about and truthful in their reviews. Blowing smoke up your you know what is not going to make you a success. Being able to take criticism constructively and allow each to have his/her own opinion. Anyway, this site doesn't seem very useful in the real world and I likely won't be here long, but I would like to keep in touch with you. If you would also like to keep up, send me an email address and I'll shoot you a message.
joe hendrickson---nashvillejoe@live.com ---i been around for awhile--can't please everybody--there are a lot of great folks on broadjam--i have reviewed 1,657 songs on here--i still remember when the grand old opry behind tootsies orchid lounge downtown nashville was not air conditioned--i got thrown out twice one night in 1975 for sneaking in and being rather drunk--i did get to see tanya tucker sing delta dawn--i was thrown out,but i went back in to see her finish delta dawn-then got thrown out again! what a story to tell--my head hit the curb like a baseball--i was a tootsies in 2004 i think, gretchen wilson was there doing her redneck woman song--what a nice surprise--cheers--joe.
Awesome Joe! I'll shoot you an email in a minute. My war story's consist of playing the LA/MS circuit with unknowns name Tim McGraw and Gary Allen and me and Billy Dean jammed some Eagles songs when he came to one of my shows once. I went to Tootsies while I was in Nashville last time and sat in with some of the youngsters. Met a lot of good people that will be tomorrows stars. I might just try and get on the schedule for the next trip to Nashville. My picture is not on the wall there yet. lol! I did get to meet Alison Krause at the Ryman while I was there. She is an awesome woman and I was totally honored to meet her.
yes--you have got to get your picture put up in tootsies--i have not been there since the flood-i hope they didn't lose any--i love that place and i really like allison krause--joe.
Don't know if they lost any or not, but I suspect they didn't since I saw that they copied many of them and put them at the airport location.
