Thanks for your review of Otro Cerveza. Perhaps mariachi fusion isn't your listening cup of tea, but we are happy you saw positives in our recording.

Hey Buzz,

I'm listening to your song 1Over The Clouds right now and it rocks, you'll definitely be moving UP the chart, just try not to bump me out of the top spot. :^O. No, really, who better than you man. ;)

You are right, the top 10 list rankings are calculated from bj reviewers and as far as I know, there's no cash in pocket associated with your raking. Just bragging rights my man....

Dig your song bud, happy holidays,

Dave - Centerpeace

How many people listen, and is it only inthe specific genre?
I mean I just posted the song and within a day it went into the top 10? Does anybody have a number, or statistics for this?

Hey, I'm in the top 10 chart for new age progressive charts as of 12.12.10, with you being #1!, gives you a sense of satisfaction doesn't it? This is the second time we've spoken, .....we must be on the same page......

Thanks for the "mostly useless" review of 'Unlucky Fried Kittens'. I don't quite know how to put this... "THERE IS NO KEYBOARD!" ... *that outburst seemed to clear a little rage...* You really could benefit from listening to the track again and hear that for yourself, but I'm of the mindset and opinion that you were too busy marking low scores on areas of the song that clearly and honestly deserve a lot better such as the quality of arrangement and recording scores. Then again, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even though sometimes it should be kept to one's self. P.S. I'm in total agreeance with Robert Adams here...

I agree with Tranzphat, as well. Everyone IS entitled to their own opinion and reviewing is subjective so it can't really be said that Buzz is wrong or right in his opinion, but when a reviewer, like Buzz, gives scores that are much lower than others have given the same song, without explaining why, it's frustrating because the absence of comment relevant to the song content makes the reviewer's "opinion" seem baseless (especially so when your song with no vocals gets low scores on "lyrics" and "vocal pitch." This highlights the question: Is the point of a review, to learn about what the reviewer likes or doesn't like, or is it about the artist being reviewed having an opportunity to get some perspective on his/her work to make it better? I think it's the latter.

Tranzpaht, I lost a connection in my computer and some how the wrong review got posted, yes, there is no keyboard and after reading my review it makes no sense so disregard it, I listened to the song and it is better than the review. Be hard on my work, PLEASE!, I need to know if I'm writing crap, for me it has to grab you in the first minute of the song and compell you to want to hear more, if not the whole thing.....it either does that or it doesn't......... Am I right about this or not?

Buzz, I'm going to go out on a limb here and dispense some unsolicited advice about reviewing Broadjam songs: A) It's not about you. It's about the song being reviewed. Most artists being reviewed, expect you to actually make comments that relate to the content of the song reviewed; i.e. -- why you gave the scores you did. Otherwise, it makes the review pointless (pun intended - meaning intended) and ...B) When you review an instrumental, and you give that song numerical scores for "lyrics" and "vocals" it makes it seem as though you're not paying attention to what you're reviewing. "n/a" is the correct button to click on the review page for those two questions.

My appologies for being a newbie, I did just that, new to this game,......... but at the same time, If I'm a reviewer I am giving a first impression of every artist and if it doesn't grab you in the first minute, (especially my music), then it isn't the best it can be, it might never be, so you move on and write more ......and thank you for the heads up, have corrected my heathen ways

Thanks for the apology (as it was) but I don't think the "grab you in the first minute" is a valid criteria. The review points are broken down into aspects that aren't just about the first minute, and go beyond whether it "grabs" you. I don't particularly like country music (for example), but if I review a song that has a country flavor, I review it for what it is, not what I want to hear.

Todd, I used country as an example, but I'm not unequivocally anti-country. I know Brad P is quite the guitarist. I'm also a big fan of Eddy Shaver (Billy Joe Shaver's late son). I practically burned a hole in "Shaver Live at Smith's Olde Time Bar." album. Tele players? More rockabilly than country but -- Danny Gatton. Ever seen him play Flight of the Bumblebee with a beer bottle as slide? Some people think that was a bit of gimmick showmanship, but I think it was so very cool. And of course the other Tele player from DC Roy Buchanan with all the pinched harmonics and swells. And of course the Hellecasters....

Buzz - I tried to paste in that link, but it said the page couldn't be found. Who is the artist and what is the song? I'll look it up as a search.

Ok... guessing from Todd's comment that the song is "When We Get There." On the 1 -- 10 scale you mentioned; 7 or maybe 8. Really like the tone; very cool Strat tones. Some sections seemed a little muddy, and I'd bet when this gets reviews some reviewers think there's too much echo (although I like it). Since this isn't a review, I'll stop there. Really nice tune Buzz, particularly like the vibe of it.

Hi Buzz,

I just received your review of my song "Rain". I'm confused by the first comment - "Steven Vonderhied, good friend". Not sure what you mean there - can you clarify?
