Crosseyed Miles, "Half-Broken Heart" Indeed! ... Great Back Story And A Top Notch Mix / Production ... Best Wishes For Wherever Life & The Music May Lead You ... J Nelson K
TY sir! I'm not on here much, but when I am next time I will listen to your tracks.
Thanks so much for the 5-star rating on my song Real Drama Queens. Very much appreciated! Good luck with your music projects!
My pleasure! I'm not on here much anymore because it's unfortunately nothing but a money pit. It's a shame because I like the format, but I have not received dime one from any of the contracts I signed in 4 years. Time to move on!
I can relate to that! I've yet to earn much money from my song writing at all, but I stay at it. I've had much better luck with earning money from playing in a tribute band than any other music project so far.
Agreed! My acoustic duo plays 2x a month and I do well with that.
Another thing I'd encourage you to do, if you're not already, is to log into your ASCAP or BMI account and check it from time to time to see if you have income being generated. I've had a few songs that were placed where I received no notice from the publisher but ASCAP was reporting royalty income from those few songs. It's not a lot of money but I would have otherwise not known that my songs were being placed.
I check my BMI everry quarter, plus if I have any, they get direct deposited into my business account. ;) So far its just radio/internet play
Ty so much for buying my new track, appreciate it!!!
Hi Xeyed Miles, I want to let u know that u totally grasped the state of mind I went thru a couple of years ago. I ve rested in pieces myself. This song is lyrically a gem, musically close to perfection and vocally brilliant. Hats off, I am a fan!
Wow, thank you for all that, it's very appreciated. You, me, and millions of people have had those thoughts running through our minds before in our lives, but it's never the right option. I hope through raising money to sales of the song we can donate it to the organization
Great tune! Nicely done.
TY very much!
Here's wishing you every success as you take this important message public.
Appreciate it greatly, as well as any FB shares you care to give. We will be giving 50% of all proceeds to a suicide prevention org. I feel so strongly about it, & hope others wil help me.
Great cause Greg, and hope that you have many hits on this important song. We've all been touched, in one way or another, by suicide. My friend and writing partner of 13 years, took his life, after battling many demons, emotional and physiological, several years ago.
So sorry to hear that! Somehow we need to be able to help show ppl that there is almost always a better option or way out. The wake suicide leaves behind affects so many others! Hopefully we will be able to amass some $ to do some good.
damn well done Greg on Resting In Pieces! "it" has touched so many of us...thank you sir... warren
Yes it has...& if I can in some way help even ONE person, then mission accomplished!
There are no stars here. If you were a big deal you wouldn't be here trying to get on the Over 50 East of the Mississippi Lite Rock Top 10 along with me. So if you don't put effort into listening, offering feedback who the hell's gonna do you any favors? This site is about being peers and giving us all a chance to have a sounding board. If you want to email blast and can't be bothered with those of others then go _____ yourself. Just had to say that...
Well said amigo lol!
you are so right Jeff we all need someone to listen and say go north ,south , east or west. Even after playing pro 50 years when you hear something nice --its like my 4 yr old grandson says---"I want that"! catnip
Just to be clear, I don't expect every "friend" to respond to an email blast. But those who have dropped songs into my inbox and received stars, reviews, support, etc and can't stir themselves to read a mail much less offer some sort of feedback are being addressed (and dropped from future interaction). The "all about me" shit doesn't cut it here...go get a MySpace page if that's what your deal is.
Meanwhile you have people like Ionut, Cyndi, Doug, Frank, Dianne, Thierry, Nick, Peter, Penny, Anthony, Jim and others I'll forget to mention or are in other orbits but supportive there that make this a fun and meaningful community! Let the duds go find fame and fortune on Music Xray...
Jeff, seems I've become a dud...... Bill
but have found fame and fortune Bill? (I thought that was such a scam site)
Jeff, I wasn't referring to that site...I don't even know what it is. I noticed you removed me from your friends list and was curious as to why. I'm lucky if 10% of the people I send messages to respond. Sometimes the response is positive, sometimes not. I don't have a clue why the ones who don't respond, don't. Maybe their day job has got them working overtime, maybe they're ill, maybe they don't know exactly what to say, maybe Bjam isn't the only outlet they have for their music. I've always appreciated your input and agree that some of us don't always live up to your expectations. I love Bjam and all those who have I have come into contact with here.... Bill
Agree. Broadjam is 99% for getting feedback from other musicians and you need to give to get. Some people are way more active than others. I come and go depending on when I release new music but always try and do a few reviews because I know how valuable the feedback has been for me. There are only a very lucky few who ever get their music placed. IMO, If you want to "make it" in the music business (or even have a shot) you need to fully commit and move to Nashville or LA.
Hoping to launch my new track, "Resting in Pieces" either today or tomorrow morning. The theme is a subject very close to my heart, suicide prevention. Hoping we can do something big with her in the future. ~GP
It's officially launched...wooo hoo!!!
very cool
What is?
lovely
Thanks, but what is? :)
Greg-No profile, photos, playlists or connections. (Skye Ent). Just phishing. I had it happen 5 or 10 times. Best to ignore Hank
Tomorrow is my last day as Primo on BJam. Unfortunately, there seems no reason to renew, as I have seen zero results, much like many of you. I love the charts & format, but the ROI is just not there. I will still upload tunes & check in on occasion. I've made some good friends here, and also some shady ones, but all in all it was still fun! GL to all of y'all! ðŸ'Š~GP
May the force be with you, G1! I hope I'm not on the shady list!
Hey buddy, I wish you the best of luck now and in the future. Wait....am I one of the shady friends lol.
I'm familiar with the zero results Greg but the "nearlys" keep me going for now. As for the expense, I'm only glad I'm not paying for demos because I couldn't justify that outlay. Keep in touch and lets hear more of your great songs Henry!!
Been there too - God bless you!
I still am FB friends w/ a bunch of you, so I'll see you on there as well!
TY for the love on Ivy! It's actually in an Indie movie coming out this year. :)
That's awesome! What is the movie called?
This Time Each Year
Nice!
Congrats great news!!!
Thx for the playlist add!
Good stuff bubba :)
Excited to get back in studio this Sat. to start work on a new track that's very important to me, called, "Resting In Pieces". It's a co-write w/ my pal, Justin Williams. Anyone who has been touched by the tragedy of suicide will appreciate it. Hoping to do some good with it in the future. ~GP
Hope it goes well for you GP
Thank you my friend. It's going to be an emotional one and going to be kind of hard to get through it I'm imagining
A subject I can identity with . Good luck with your recording .Will keep a ear out for it.
Sorry to hear that brother. No one should ever have tp feel like their life should know, & no one should have to go through the loss of it on the other end either.
Thx so much for the love on That November!
You are welcome! Great song!
Mr. Miles, Thanks for the PL adds and fives for "Touch Down" and " Papa Don't Mind". Bill
Greg, Thanks for the 5*'s on "There's a Tear In The Corner". Glad you liked it. Walter's guitar work really helped out. Much appreciated, Hank
No problem!
Thank you so much for the 5* on Indigo 7. Really appreciated. Alan
Thank you Hamish for the stars for Rolling On, much appreciated.
10-4 Oswald!
greg, Thank you for the 5* rating on my song "Till St. Peter Lets Me In" (Female) Much appreciated, Hank
No problem
Honored to see "That November" #1 BJam Earth again :)
Brilliant stuff sir. You have very serious play statistics for your songs so they are either very good or you've got about 2000 friends!! I think it could be both...................
Thanks Bob! I dont have anywhere near 2000 friends, thankfully lol. As I get older, I find that less "friends" and more "TRUE friends" in a small group is better. :)
Thank you so much for the five stars on my track!
You're welcome. Great song.
Greg, Thanks for the stars for my song "Till St. Peter Lets Me In". Female version coming soon! Much appreciated, Hank
My pleasure!
Thanks for the stars and playlist add for 'Law and Disorder'. I really appreciate your support. Alan
Thx so much for the 5-star on my track!
You are welcome.
