Derrick; Thank you so much for the 5-star review!
You're welcome! Please remind me which song...I don't freely give out 5 stars unless I'm really knocked out. ðŸ'Ž
REINCARNATION BLUES
Ah yes! Real and authentic...as good music should be. If you dig real and authentic Soul/Blues please check out my latest from my cd released last August. Hello Mojo! has gotten some great reviews. www.hellomojo.com
ooops...HelloMojo.net
Will do
Thx Derrick for the stars on "Magic of Music". And thx for the listening.
Apparently, the movie was never released. The song was sent to ASCAP but to date, I haven't received any royalties. I can't understand it. The movie costs 3 million $ but it wasn't distributed. I'm hoping it will be released next Christmas season. How have you been? Any musical success?
I am sorry to hear. Me- Frostbite Heart was on podcast and also won song contest. Other then that, no luck.
This has been a most exciting week of preparation for my trip to Texas to record my new album for Catfood Records, https://catfoodrecords.com I'll be working with some world class musicians at Sonic Ranch Studios, https://sonicranch.com Eleven originals and one fun Kinks cover. More news as it happens
Dedicated Follower of Fashion?
I like The Healing Derrick. Great mix of genres producing a thoughtful and powerful song and video. Great rapping and vocal. Good luck with the project. Bob
Thanks Barb! If you are so inclined here with all of your friends. We'd like to get this message out to everyone. Peace
Darn auto correct! I mean BOB! Thanks again!!!
Barb sounds OK, a tad Texan maybe?!!
Hello Broadjam friends! I have a new genre blending song/video that is the follow up to the tremendous reception of our previous song here, BACK ON MY FEAT. The love that was shown by Broadjam members for that one inspired Jay Netic and I to come up with something even better...and I think we hit the mark and then some. Please check it out on my hope page...like and review. But wait....there's more!! Check out this amazing video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4s kA61N7og
I've now uploaded the video directly to my BJ homepage. Please check it out. Thank you!
Excellent rap/rock fusion!
Thanks Dan! The first of many new musical adventures.
Oops sorry, I guessed wrong! Mrs. Kate
Call don't know who Mr. Cooper is... But he must be awfully brilliant!ðŸ'🎵🎶
He is a bj artist who writes good country songs with a strong story line. That's why I thought you were him. Sorry about that. GREAT song! Bravo!
Thank you!
Kate! Thank you for such a wonderful well written review of my song SON DONT YOU GO. Your deep and insightful analysis of the song completely gets the message and my thought behind it.
Like I said, great song. Does it come from your life?
Oh yes. I actually wrote this song as my contribution to the first music library project that I engaged in. The fellow that brought me the project had a number of songs he had already written and I wanted to do some thing on my own. I was going through some challenging times with my older son. I could see him heading down a path I was very familiar with and that formed my launching pad lyrically. I'm glad you dig this song. I think we've had a few licensing opportunities with it.
So how did your son turn out? Is there a happy ending to the story?
All's well that ends well!
Hi Derrick, Thanks for a kind and very constructive review of It Won't Be me etc. Yes, the vocal is a stumbling block really - it's a bit chicken and egg I suppose. As I've never had that hit song I would struggle to justify getting a pro involved. Whereas if I was a young performer/songwriter starting out it would be a sensible, legitimate investment. Of course if you were ever at a lose end.........?!! Thanks again. Bob
Loose end even!
You're welcome Bob. I hear ya. However...I kinda look at it from the other perspective. Youn performers are probably the best at showcasing their original material. Veteran songwriters know that having the best possible vocalist to "sell" your song is the way to go. A small investment in a pro can be all the difference. At least that's my view from years in the biz. I'd be willing to chat about it sometime if interested.
Thanks Derrick, I appreciate your words of wisdom. I am very aware that a previous conversation I had on behalf of a third party came to nothing but, regrettably, that was out of my hands. I will message you privately but it may be in a day or so. Much appreciated.
Hi Katilyn! Thank you for your brutally honest review of my song THE SMALLEST PART. You are absolutely correct...it is dated by contemporary Country standards. Not even one of my best songs honestly. But thank you for the nice words on my vocals. I'd love to share some of my more recent work with you...rockin' blues/americana/etc. I loved your song BE COMING. That's right on target. All the best to you.
Point me to the right place! I'd be happy to listen. Unfortunately, I don't get to choose which one gets sent to me for review :-/ And thank you for the kind words about my song :) Cheers!
Here's a "Makin' it in Nashville" kinda song! https://www.broadjam.com/songs/derr ickprocell/keep-my-dream-alive/Play
You can check out a lot more of my stuff here on Broadjam as well as www.DTsongs4u.com
Hi Jim! I just listened to your song I CAN'T REMEMBER MEMPHIS ANYMORE. Really nice work my friend. It was one of the songs for review in the Hot 100. I had to go check out whose it was. I've got to listen to some more...hoping they're as good. I see you had some friends of mine playing on that track...Kostia, Eric. I really loved the singer...she really sold it.
Well Derrick first of all, nice to meet you virtually! Hope we get to meet face to face one day. Yes, Kostia, Arber, Tommy Greywolf, Eric and the incredible Carmen Nickerson. Thanks for your kind words.
Hey Fred! Thanks for the great review of my song LIVIN IN A DREAM. It's one of my favorite live performance songs...we get to stretch it out and it's undergone more than a few changes since the recorded version. Let's connect. If you're ever looking for someone to help you out on vocals...
Fred, thanks for the strong reviews you've been giving to my music. I'm humbled because you have so much outstanding music, yourself...tasteful and memorable. I also love that there are so many contrasts in stylles to keep my interest. You've got mad skills, bro! You mentioned my lyric sheets having songwriting credits, thus ruining my anonymity. I include them because there are often different singers, some of which had nothing to do with the songwriting. Also, if other people might decide to cover and/or post songs that include my contributions, I'd like to make the credits known. At this juncture, I'm not focused on a career in the industry anymore, but I love to make the music for music's sake. I don't have any specific other agenda, LOL! You and your music, on the other hand, sound like you have a bright future! Best of luck on much success! I've enjoyed all the songs I've had time to listen to, so far!
Hey man! I just want to reach out and throw some praise your way. I just got finished reviewing songs for the HOT 100 contest and did something that I rarely do...I listened to your song Change It All all the way through. And then I had to look up the artists to see who wrote this excellent tune. Best of luck to you. I'm gonna go peruse some more of your music now!
Thanks Derrick! I appreciate your enthusiastic support of my music, especially during this C-19 hunkered down time we're all experiencing. Likewise, all best to you - Bob
You're most welcome. I really dig your stuff. I think we may have a lot of the same musical influences. Check out some of my more recent stuff here on Broadjam or check out the stuff I've written with my Gramma award winning lyricist Terry Abrahamson at www.DTSongs4U.com
Hey y'all! I just got news that my song HOLD ME CLOSER will be on tonight's episode of This Is Us! Love them licensing opportunities.
Well done sir. May you be a rich man!
Thanks Bob! An oldie but a goodie. Period music is the latest rage I guess.
Congratulations.
Thanks! It played for almost the full length of the song!!!
Hey Brother THE ONLY ONE FOR ME! THIS IS JUST A FINE ASS SONG BRO, LAWD HAVE MERCY BROTHER YOU GOT A FAN FOREVER WITH THIS HOT LICK!!!!
Thank you Shadow Creek!! That one was from back in my foray into Nashville days. Love how you love it!!
Thank you for your extremely generous review of my song SHADES OF BLUE. I would love to talk about working with you as a vocalist.

Gotcha! I'll reach out next week. Meanwhile, there's more here on Broadjam and my website...DerrickAnAmerican.com
Hey Fred! Thanks for the 5 star review of my song BABY PLEASE. Yes...it was inspired by the ARS song SO INTO YOU...a basic blues with a Southern fried flavor. It's from a while back and has been licensed for a few different TV placements including Saving Grace. I'm gonna check out some of your stuff while here...
Hey Kate! Thanks for that well thought out and extremely generous review of my song IT'S SO FUNNY I COULD DIE. That's a real old one...probably from the 80's. I was trying a lot of different writing techniques and genres then. I think it would be a good song for someone to license for a movie or show set in the 80's.
You are welcome!
Thanks for the feedback for Keep The Faith Derrick, it means a lot. No excuses but I had grander ideas for the vocal but am trying to get rid of some sort of laryngitis that restricts my vocal range - its damned frustrating, especially as my voice has never been particularly strong. As a really strong vocalist, if you know of any remedies for very tired vocal cords, I'm your man!! Thanks again. Bob
The best remedy for tired vocal cords is vocal rest. The other suggestion I would have is checking out my wife for online vocal lessons. She keeps singers singing healthy and strong. www.MeredithColby.com
Thanks. The rest is no problem as we are locked down here so all we have is the everyday chat of married life!! I will check out your good lady's website. Cheers.
Hey Nick! Thanks for the nice review of PERFECT DAY. I'm very proud of this one. I'm kinda hoping it might become a Country wedding standard someday. I co-wrote it and produced it for the vocalist, Joel Pilka, for his wedding dance surprise. Needless to say, it worked like a charm.
Hi Derrick, Thanks for your kind review of Under Her Wing, it's much appreciated.
You're welcome Bob. Sorry I couldn't get a bit more detailed in my review but under some serious time constraints at the moment. I did want to check the song out as you had sent it a while ago.
There's never any obligation to provide a review, more don't than do - and that's fine with me Derrick. Plenty of detail there anyway, always useful. Thanks.
Thanks for the review Catnip! Mrs Kate
Hey Catnip Pat! Thank you for the kind words about my motivational song, GO WITH JOE! I'd like to think that we had a little something to do with Joe and Kamala's journey to the White House.
GO WITH JOE-- Love it Hank
Thanks Hank! Now go forth and share please!!
I will my friend. And you should view and share this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR1 BSxkAPlI
Wow Derrick that was great....hard thing to do...writing a political song...but you nailed the hell out of it!
Thanks Bobby! Much appreciated. Please feel free to share away!!
already did....
Great song Derrick, and I don't even live in the USA!! But it's not only the sentiment behind the writing of the song, it's also very well performed. Great stuff.
Derrick! Blues in House is a Diamond! Catnip
Thanks brother! Glad you dig it.
Howdy Chester! I'd like to share my recently written song, LOCKDOWN USA, with you. If you dig it, please share with your friends. I'm trying to help raise some funds for struggling gigging musicians. Social media, emails, etc. are all welcome ways to share. Thanks in advance. Stay safe and be well. Derrick Procell https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-c cYfdzXxY
Hey Derrick, I will check it out. This is all very trying on so many people. I was laid-off from my job....to be expected. Unfortunately, I am trying to recover from 2019. I had two major surgeries that had me laid-up for 8 months....and then in January of 2019, a virus attacked my vocal chords and paralyzed them and caused a lot of havoc. I totally lost my singing voice and I have had 15 months of voice physical therapy to try and get it back.... which is slow, slow, slow......and doesn't sound like the old voice. Terrible experience. Anyway, lots of challenges..... I'll check out the song..... Be well and safe. Chester
I should have closed off the piano for. Check out the vocal. It's on my first page of the sing list. If you care too thanks. Felice
Hey Sam...thank you for that glowing review of my song LOVE'S SO HARD TO FIND! It's from quite a while back, but I, like you, still think it's got what it takes. And now I'll have to look up the other cat you mentioned beside Michael McDonald!
He has a ton of music here on Broadjam, so have at it, Derrick. Glad you're sharing your talents!
great song
Hi Laurie! Thanks for the comment. I don't know what song you're referring to however.
Hi Derrick, Thanks for a very fair review of When You Might Need Me, it is much appreciated. Bob
Derrick, Just a note to let you know that AT LONG LAST I've finally gotten a chance to upload a new song to my BroadJam Playlist! RETURN FROM THE SEA. Take a listen and do take a look at the song description for its origin. I'd love to know your thoughts o this. I'm planning to retire in January and am looking forward to focusing more on my music AND being much more active on BroadJam :0) Marie
you are a great artist bro!
Thanks! Tryin' to be. Now the world needs to know!
