Hello Ed. I didn't recognise the time frame which might have been confusing, it was early this morning :-). I was just being a good broadjammer and listening to the song of the month entries and your song had special appeal: a compelling lyric and the ADT on the vocals was very effective. I inferred the title and found your home page to explore more. Your bio starts "In late 2004 Ed Bentley was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame" ant that was what I was acknowledging. Similarly I just amplified the "awesome" by reflecting Tommy Patterson comment but "over 30 days ago" could mean anything in broadjam terms. We make music in very different genres and I suspect my offerings will not be to your taste but that's cool; although the Washing Machine Music (kinda parody) is getting a lot more love than I expected. Hello Bob Thanks for responding.. I was surprised to learn of your connection to Bob Moog.. I live in East Aurora New York, where the Moog facility is still located.. I listened to your washing machine song and found your synthesizer really good... And wow, it has over 800 plays! Oh yes, Tommy Patterson is a Broadjam friend, and very talented... Still not clear on the contest thing though, I do know I submitted my song a while back.. So, Tommy and others are talking about it? I'm an old dude and a bit tech challenged... Yep, that's Mike Lusk. Since I'm a poet convinced to turn some of my poems into songs but can't play anything anymore due to the condition of my hands, I have to pay to have them produced. Deb Thomas does the ones I write for a female singer. I will soon have a couple of male/female duets made with both of them singing.

Hey Ed... Sorry but I ran pout of time yesterday. I'm in Santa Rosa, CA. confirming final details for my move here later this year. I had been taking care of my mom for the last 13 years, but she died last August so I moved from Santa Cruz area to Vegas to get my life back and just paly golf all the time... when I wasn't writing lyrics!!! Vegas is not my ideal place to live! Golf is great but that's not enough to keep me there. A friend of mine that I've known since high school has 2 acres in Santa Rosa and made me an amazing offer to move here, design and build her a 22' diameter gazebo and 44'x60' barn with a 1200 SF living unit inside the barn... She has an endless list of remodel projects too and she wants me to help her with all those too... Bottom line, I've agreed to all her conditions and they property is amazing so I'll be moving here before December of this year... It's gonna be great for this old cowboy!!! I'm still writing and I'm about ready to send Michael 3 more songs to produce for me!!! I was also contacted by a woman whose been in the biz for over 40 years I believe and she loves my lyrics and especially my song For One Love... She wants permission to pitch my stuff and shes got a team for that and a team to write and record anything I may want to do... She's stuck with the strike going on, but as soon as that's over, we'll get at it... Her name is Vicki Johnson at vickijohnsonmusic.com... quite the resume!!! All in all I'm doing OK and feeling better all the time... Once I get out of Vegas, I'll really get inspired to get back to work and writing again in a really positive environment... Michael Salacuse... He has recorded all of my songs for me... I come up with lyrics, rough demos and melodies then he hires singers, writes the music if necessary and records the songs... Andrea Standley introduced me to Michael 10 years ago...

Hi Ed, congrats on winning the Song of the Month for March, well deserved! I won the April one. I was wondering if you signed the Top Ten publishing agreement, which is the prize. I got it to review and I suppose I am going to sign it, but having somebody else review it for me. Was wondering your thoughts on that agreement. Maybe you have won before and signed with Top Ten previously? I hope if I do that it leads to licensing, just wondering if you had experience doing this? Appreciate any feedback you can offer from your experience.

Hi Randall...Congrats to you on winning! Yes, I got the Top Ten contract and signed it. I also had another song signed with them a few years ago. Nothing ever happened with it, however I guess if you don't buy a ticket, you can't win the lottery... It's a non exclusive ... Not sure it's the right thing to do, but maybe at least you have a chance of getting it recorded.. So again, Congrats and good luck! Oh, and yes I was in the Insurance business way back when. Not as much fun as writing songs....lol Best, Ed
