Hey Roy, our song Stayin Alive was picked in Aug. in a sports tv category....The only question I have is WHAT NOW?
Kaos, Congrats! If they haven't already, the provider will be contacting you and giving you further instructions. Make sure you are registered with a performance rights society, ASCAP, BMI or SESAC.....Keep me posted, Best, Roy
So there's no time expected frame?
I don't know the specifics, but I'm sure they have something in mind or they are confident in a future placement....Once you speak with the provider, they can give you the details.
So they'll call us, we should contact them right?
*shouldn't
They should be contacting you soon.
Okay cool, thx Roy... u being hands on like this helps Broadjam members out tremendously! That's y u guys r #1!!!!
Hey KAOS - This particular project is one that you were contacted about already back in August, and you would have been asked to provided songwriter and PRO information. Your song is in a private search-able online database that's used by producers of FOX Sports, FSN, SPEED, NFL Network, Big Ten Network, NFL Network, ESPN, Versus, CSN and G4. As the description for that opportunity stated, that opportunity was for a blanket license with no money upfront, but you would receive performance royalties when your song is used in a program. So, now your song is cleared for use and you would just need to keep an eye on your PRO statements to see if your song was placed. One of our other members has seen upwards of 30 placements from having several songs licensed in a previous round of this opportunity you're referring to. He used a service called Tunesat to track placements - he only uses Broadjam to place music so he happily sent over the report recently and it was the first we'd heard of Tunesat. Perhaps Tunesat is a service that you would want to check out - has anyone else had experience with Tunesat?

Great stuff...I'm lovin it....I especially love yall vocals!
Simply put, this is awesome. Song starts out with a hand-shaker over the top of a muffled drum creating a groove that is exceptional and infectious. Snare comes in slightly behind the beat making the groove even better.....The tenor male vocal, with excellent pitch and phrasing, nails it setting up the hook. Man, this is well done. Hook is "It's all about stayin' alive, alive, alive" where the melody is perfectly married to the lyric. Then the second hook "Go Hard" comes in with the transposed down rap on top of it. The chorus has a string lick and white noise that is flawlessly mixed as you don't know it's there unless you listen for it. Very well placed. I might have put a slight volume envelope on the hats when they come in as they hit a little hard for my taste, but again it's personal taste.....This is followed by another rapper who tears it up again then bringing it back to the tenor who reminds me of Smokey with a slightly harder edge. At 1:04, it felt like it could have gone back to the singer here as the rap seemed a little long compared to the rest of the song, but the very next line, "I gotta a son and daughter who mimmick what their father do" made me rethink my position. A very meaningful and perfectly delivered line.....After the second chorus, another rapper, who reminds me of 50 cent, enters followed by another chorus into a high-quality female singer. Female and male spar back and forth a bit. Another great and meaningful line in this exchange, "Tell all the haters c'est la vie. Nice repeat vocal effect 3:24, an effect used skillfully on one the raps earlier in the song as well. 3:34 to 3:39 seems to be a little struggle between the two singers, meaning it sounds like they weren't quite satisfied with what they were doing. It'd not that big of a deal and I would leave exactly as is unless you are going back in to work on it. At 3:36, singer is slightly flat on the first note in the scat. And a great and radio friendly finish, repeating the chorus. Overall: Every aspect of this song is done well and could be a featured hook on its own. The production, vocals, rappers and everything about it is strong. The lead male singer is amazing, the rappers are excellent and very memorable, the low octave rap is a great creative hook and delivers it, and the female singer is exciting with a great tone. The song is well written, arranged and the production is simply remarkable. Lyrically, the song has two chorus', Stayin' Alive and Go Hard. Both are completely different but really work well together.....This will be In my personal listening list for a long time and I'm sure I will know every word to this song at some point. I can imagine when the producers will be thinkin' read this review. I am breakin' it down piece-by-piece as if it was orchestral score and they were probably putting this together with shear talent and instinct. I am sure there was a lot of trial and error to get it this good. There isn't a production of this quality that comes without spending a lot of time in the "hit and miss" room. Great job and thanks for putting this on Broadjam. This is one of the best I've ever heard on this site.
