What happened to meloncoly?
Who's this! Lol....you remember that? :-)
Old school industrial with a new twist. "The Great Machine" has been added. Please feel free to leave comments as I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks!
Sweet. Nice work. Are you drumming live on these? I do on some of my stuff, however it is just as much fun making beats i think.. :)
It's funny, I have been a drummer for about 16 years but now most of the beats are made on a MPC. I sample a good majority of my own sounds though. On Carve, that tingy sounding drum sample came from me hitting different parts of an aluminum ladder. I didn't want to quite drumming yet making beats is just as much fun so it's a often a hybrid of the two.
Nice. Love the atmosphere....
Thanks for the comment.
I love the disco feel.. Nice to hear a fellow drummers vision. Cool....
I hear you... I was super pumped by your material. I found it inspiring and will definitely keep checking in for new posts!
Unique and interesting. I have a hard time comparing this to anything else which I love. The only thing I can think of is a mesh of Skinny Puppy and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Great work!
Well thanks for listening and enjoying. Not sure what songs you were referring to, or if was just a general comment. I still thank you..:)
Truly unique... and catchy. I am liking it.
:)
Awesome man. Digging a lot of these tunes. It's like a marriage of Sevendust and Ministry! Great job.
Kick ass tune! Great guitar work and layering. Listening on headphones if felt that if the harmonies were mixed a bit hotter it would make the chorus pop a bit more but other than that fantastic man. Great work.
Very cool tune. Reminds me of Gary Numan's newer stuff which I love. Great texturing.
Love the transitions. It's catchy. Great production!
Great! What was the name of the tune?
Fantastic man! Great groove to this tune.
Thanks Kiel. Which one did you like?
Hi!really unique and awesome sounding productions you got goin' on!! Loved " Carve" although they are all amazing! Welcome.. And blessings.... Julia:)
"The Resurrection Of Hope" is beautiful N...A favorite of mine!Nice work!
I actually wrote it for a client of mine that requested a demo of a very different nature, but had problems coming up with a vocal performance he/she felt were worthy of the original production. Nothing came from either, so I decided to post it and shop it regardless of its remaining in limbo. I have high hopes my client will find the inspiration to perform to the original, but alas, all paths at some point separate regardless of our unique and amazing skills. It was actually... In many regards... A song written to inspire a performance for another. (Heavy heart felt sigh.) I know everything is in its right place though... And regardless of the lost productions that may never see the light of day... Am grateful to be able to share it with all of you. For the record though... My scales were cliché and the sequencing could use some polishing (laughs to self.) But thats just me being my own worst critic. Thanks for listening. Best: N
I really like it N, again great, flowing work..
Cheers Penny... It indeed... Was from the heart. N
Loved it as well!;))
Beautiful piece Nathaniel, "The Resurrection of Hope"! It just feels hopeful, and full of peace!
I actually wrote the entire thing with Kelly sitting behind me... She knew I needed to work and I just did it. It took an entire three hours to compose... I likely should have invested more time into it but I didn't want to bore my partner. Thankfully now that we're in Australia she's consumed with her own work and I don't feel pressured to entertain as I compose. I can take 6 or 20 hours to do what I need to do and it doesn't matter. Regardless... It was a good demonstration for her while we were on the ranch and she had nothing better to do than watch me compose. N
Its just weird when someone you care about is listening to the same loops over and over and over again. Its a process. N
I'm like... "Please don't hate it because you've heard it a thousand time in a several hour period."
I feel sure that she doesn't hate to hear you compose, and that she is very proud to be with such a creative person. However, I do know what you're saying. I live only with my critters, and sometimes I think, "Geesh, I bet you all are sick of hearing this same thing, over and over!"; especially with them being a "captive audience" Haha! Not a very good comparison, surely, but in the same vein. It is great for you to have Kelly, a supportive, loving partner, that cares, and loves what you do!!! All the best to you both!
My kid is screwed:)
Guess I should start focusing on classical eh?
Good thing it was always part of the equation huh?

Kiel, Your "Passion Flower" is really a fine combination of what you expess as "fusing the organic with the mechanical". Great sound, love your organic percussion, and that fine, mechanical groove! Best to you and your music!
Digging your style. Has a real pretty hate machine meets early stabbing westward sound. Welcome to broadjam. N
Very catchy, I'm digging this track. Nice foot stomping beat and good transitioning. Great job!
Great track with good emotional pull. Love the use of the piano reverses. Great production too.
Thanks Kiel. Hope all is well on your end of the IP address. So what are you working on these days? N
Hi Nathaniel. Thank you for the comment! Bands like NIN and Stabbing Westward have definitely been huge influences on me. I have a lot of tracks I've been working on. I have a bad habit of starting a bunch of tracks and then not finishing. I've been playing catch up on that. How about you? Anything exciting on the horizon? I was glad to find your music! It's nice to connect with others who music you admire.
Trent Reznor, Charlie Clouser, Thomas Newman, and so many others played a huge role in developing my tastes over the years. I hear you with starting projects by the dozen and then feeling so overwhelmed that only a few get finished (if any.) The trick to that is just pushing through. Even today I worked on a few overdue projects that I'm just like "but I don't feel like it!" cause yeah, I'd rather watch The Hungover Games or something than actually work... But you just gotta do it. As far as me... "A return to Primal" is my huge focus beyond client work, mastering three albums, and developing my next album. I'll be releasing all four this year along with several sample packs through sample republic, but oddly... I have time:) You know... The last time I was as interested in an artist's style as yours I did an awesome EP with him. Look up Austin Tyler or check my albums for the Wesley Dinwidie collection. You'll find his work there. Violare was actually a part of that collection, so I'm glad you liked it so much. Let me know if you're interested in test driving an engineering session for your pilot song. I could make the time for it if you were interested in letting another producer take the reigns for a track or two. In the meantime... I wish you the best and hope to see you around broad jam more often. Best: N
Before I run off, What kind of tools are you using to do your productions?
Hi Nathaniel. Sorry for the delay. I would definitely be interested in something like that! Let me know how an engineering session works with you. I am getting better lately about finishing older items. It is a push through though. You are right about that. For equip, oddly, I record on a Tascam 2488. I love it, simple and to the point with no software updates. I also use an mpc1000, Access Virus TI2 desktop, a Gibson SG, and tons of organic sampled percussion and drums (Ladders, pop cans... anything I can shape into an interesting sound). Thanks man.
Working on things...
Aren't we all:) Feel free to spam me with new work through your mail system.
