Hey Mark if you get a chance ce k out my new song "A Triumphant Return". I would love to hear your feedback on it. Thanks and may God bless you.
Hey friend, I enjoyed listening to your "A Triumphant Return" I especially love the cymbals. I assume you are using a keyboard-may I ask what you use as I am in the market for possibly a Yamaha Tyros. Just curious as to what you use. Nice job!!! Take a listen to My "Superhero Theme". Curious as to what you would think. Stay in touch. Mark Crocker
Thanks for the great feedback! Although I have a Roland Fantom X I do almost all my production in logic pro 8. I used to do all my music on a keyboard but it is so much more enjoyable for me to do it in the computer. The workflow is faster and there are so many options for sounds. All the sounds were software instruments found in logic pro 8. I hook my keyboard to motu ultralite audio interface (which is connected to the computer via firewire) and use it as a midi controller. I will definitely give "my superhero theme a spin.
Thanks for your kind words Donna. Yes, I had a song selected to be placed in a library for movie reps to look through for movie trailers. as I understand it, I would be paid by ASCAP (of which I am a member) only if a company comes along and selected the piece. At least it is in the running and will stay in the library indefinietely-so who knows what could happen in the future. I have submitted to probably over 300 opportunities. Competition is fierce and a lot of times (after going back and listening to the winners) the description of what type of music is wanted does not match what was selected. So sometimes I feel like I have wasted my $ because had I known they were really looking for "electronic" even though it said "cinematic", I would not have sumitted to that opportunity. I usually submit only when Broadjam offers the 1/2 off all submissions for a weekend. They use to do this at the end of every month, but lately they have stopped and gone to a daily special. So I am not submitting as often. I have found at 1/2 price or $2.50 a pop, I can do a little more than when I have to pay $5 a pop. Hope this helps you out some. Mark Crocker
Hi Mark - thanks for your reply! Yes, I also preferred the 1/2 off all submission opportunities and have told Roy. You might want to express your opinion to him as well - roy@broadjam.com and maybe he'll bring it back. Thanks - Donna
Roy, I have noticed that you review quite a few songs here on Broadjam. How does one go about submitting something to you for listening? Thanks. Mark Crocker
Mark, Thanks for your note. I listen to about 30-50 songs daily and wish I could review more than I do. If you post a request for a review, it usually takes about a month for me to get to it as there are several in the queue already. Post the song that you would like me to review and I'll get it on the list. Thanks for your interest and being a member.....Best, Roy
Roy, when you say "post a review request", where on the Broadjam site do we do that? I have a number of songs posted under my name. Do we just tell you the name of the song? Or there is there more to the review process I am not aware of? Thanks for your time. Mark Crocker
Mark, If you would like me to review a song, you can post it here. I am usually backed up, so thanks in advance for your patience....Also, there are others ways to get feedback on Bjam. 1.) Check out the Pro Reviewer process. There are many top-level industry veterans reviewing. For a fee, you get your music directly to, and receive feedback from pros who have been there and done it. 2.) The peer review mechanism on Broadjam will give you direct feedback from other members. Many of the reviewers are great musicians and have good feedback to offer. You should give this a try as well.....Best, Roy
I'd be happy to listen to anything available. Send it through here or contact me at spettis@drury.edu Good Luck
my song--touched by an angel--thanks for the review--cheers--joe.
Congratulations on having had one or more of your songs "selected" from the pitch opportunities. I was wondering if you were ever contacted and if you feel that making pitches to Broadjam has been a good financial decision for you. Thank you, Donna donalarose@aol.com
Congratulations on being selected for a dramatic score with Broadjam. I listened to our submission and it was quite beautiful. I really love the solo violin. May I ask you, do you record with live instruments or are you using a keyboard. I would be interested in knowing which keyboard if that is the case. Well done. And congratulations!!!
