I've flitted around your music Nick and am mightily impressed. Good luck with your projects. Bob
Thanks So much Bob! I'll have to flit around with yours! Thanks again!
Hi Nick, many thanks for your review of What If You're Wrong, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Good point about the bridge, it's a couple of years since I recorded it now and I'm not sure why that didn't happen at the time? It was already a long track so it may well have been that something else would have to go to make room. (It was written after accidently seeing some video of terrorist atrocities and how the complete lack of emotion by the perpetrators brought it home to me that they were convinced what they were doing was for "the cause".) "Noodles" is a great term fort those bits an pieces of guitar between the lines!! BTW, we have one thing in common, a 74 Strat - by far my favourite over the years. Thanks again, Bob
You're very welcome, Bob! It's cool to know the background of the tune. Any owner of a 74 Strat is a friend of mine. Good luck!
Hi Nick, Thanks for the review on "Benandonner" Much Appreciated!
Thanks for writing and performing it!
Hi Kate. Thx for your kind review of Wonder Girl. There is only one version of this one. However, on suggestion of a pro reviewer I remade Wonder Boy. It is same song but with girl singing about her "Wonder Boy". I made 3 versions of this. The first remake is with a very talented singer and writer also on Broadjam. However due to Covid we could not coordinate the mixing with my producer to put it all together. The next one was with a young completely unknown singer who turned out to have the perfect voice for the song. This one is called Wonder Boy (KaytLynn). It has been selected by 2 providers and being pitched for premium pitches and other accolades. If you have not heard that one, it is the version to listen to. I then did the same one but we added some percussion to it, as a slight variation. Thx again!
So I had heard it before. I guess I'm not as ditzy in the head as I thought. ha ha. Happy New Year, Randall and congrats on the placements. I gave up on BJ placements a long time ago. No success there at all for me.
Hi Kate. Thanks for your wonderful review of 2020 Goodbye! I really appreciate it!
You are welcome !
hello Mrs. Kate, and thanks for your review of my backing track/chopped a bit to That's Another Story, the vocal...check it out if you have time...your review was right on, as always! happy new year!! peace, warren
Hi Mrs Kate! Thanks for your very nice review of my song 2020 Goodbye. Stay safe and Happy New Year!
You are welcome!
Just reuploaded Under Her Wing with more emphasis on the guitar.
Excellent updated version. Good work Bob.
Thanks very much Alan. This version was my original thought but then I stripped out most of the guitar. Nice to know I've got it about right now. Much appreciated.
Hi Bob! I just listened to Under Her Wing. I really love the tone of the clean guitar. I read that you have transitioned to Amp simulation. Sounds Great!, I am soon to buy a Helix myself. This song has a nice country feel to it which is similar to today's country music. It's refreshing to hear a wholesome topic in a pop tune. Also listened to Dark Eyed Lady. Very excellent production with a nice balance of difference sounds! Also, a great vocal performance! Nice ending. I wish you luck going forward!
Thank you for those kind words Nick. I didn't see Helix when I did my research but it may well have been out of my price bracket? I use TH-U by Overdrive and have got a long way to go to find all the various possibilities, that clean sound was a good discovery. Luck to you too and it would be nice to hear how you get on with Helix.
Thank you very much Nick! I really appreciate your support. All the best!
Hi Ionut, Thanks for giving Waiting for the Call and Speculation 5 stars. Much appreciated! Nick.
You're very welcome!
Ionut, I just listened to Beginning of the End. Very emotional and passionate. I am reminded of Mozart's requiem. This sounds like a requiem to me, which makes sense considering the title and ICU alarm in the beginning. The background voice samples add so much to this Wow! Excellent work!! Nick Kushner
Thank you very much Nick!
Hi Ionut, Thanks for the 5 stars for Slipping from Reality and Walking on Clouds. Much appreciated! Good luck to you. I'll be listening to your stuff soon. Nick.
You're very welcome Nick!
Hi Tristan, Face in the Mirror is a great piece! Soundtrack material for sure. It reminded me of music for Hugo, with the piano in the beginning. But it stands on its own overall. Great job! Nick Kushner
Thanks mate. I really appreciate that! Take care, Tristan
Hi Tristan, Thanks for your positive review of Slipping from Reality. I am honored that you heard a little Prokofiev in that piece. I love Peter and the Wolf. The oboe, which represented the duck, probably reminded you of that. I'll soon check your stuff out. Thanks, Nick Kushner.
Nick, Thanks for your review of my tune 'Straight Ahead'...much appreciated!
Randy, I am listening to Movie Theme 2. Very beautiful music played with lots of feeling. Excellent!! Lots of good dynamics and hesitations. Good luck to you! Nick Kushner
Hi Randy, Thanks for taking the time to give me your very thoughtful feedback on Slipping From Reality. I am glad that you liked the piece. I am a big fan of the Twilight Zone and own all the good ones. I can relate to how you were reminded of that. I always loved the music during those episodes. You make very valid points about the cymbals. I think I went overboard with them. I'll keep that in mind for the future. I'll try to listen to your stuff soon Best, Nick.
I really like your stuff... you have a strong style....
Billy, Thanks for your kind words for Walking on Clouds. I think you are my number fan. Do you have any licensing deals for me? Just kidding. I'll keep plugging away. Best, Nick.
Hey Nathaniel, Thanks for such a detailed review of Walking on Clouds. I really appreciate your constructive comments about how I should have introduced some of the melodic elements from the beginning. I have a habit of sometimes allowing the listener to hear the initial rhythm part before I take away the listener's attention with melody. I feel sometimes that the rhythm gets the short end of the stick. I also like your comments about creating more space and not being afraid to play counter to the main idea. Good advice that I will try to incorporate in the future. I feel honored that you took the time to try to improve my work. Unlike you, I just do it on the side for enjoyment. Sounds like you are making a career out of music. I am very envious. I listened to your stuff and was very impressed. Good luck to you.
Philip glass does that in his minimalism, he just usually has a larger arrangement plotted out in his usage of chords and timbres, yet somehow... He manages to keep his scales relatively simple in contrast to what he could do. Be like Philip. I've got an entire album called the Anatomy of hope and fear dedicated to such ideas. But really, you'd be better off studying his own work, good luck. Hope my advice was useful.
Billy, Thanks so much for your kind words about Emotional Letdown. It was a big emotional pick me up! You are right that it feels like a space walk! I have another piece that you might like to be posted soon called Walking on Clouds. But I need to EQ the Spanish guitar in some spots. Getting good recordings of that guitar is real tricky since sometimes it can get boomy in spots. Stay well! Nick.
Hi James, Thanks for the very positive review of my piece "The Wait". So glad that you enjoyed it! It gives me more confidence to submit it for more opportunities. I'll be sure to listen to your stuff soon. Best regards, Nick Kushner.
Thanks Nick for the keen and kind review of Bad Guys. You take good care bud. Billy
...and thank you sir for the recent review of Seven's Gone. I always appreciate you taking the time to listen in and offer up some thoughts. You take good care, Billy
Hey Nick thanks for the review of Stronger - you are right it is a little too long! The original version has vocals on it, but I sense you are right about the length in general. FOr it to be more commercial it needs to be shorter and get to the hook earlier. Good luck and thanks.
Hey Billy, Thanks for the very nice, detailed review of The Wait. I am so glad that you like it. I visited your profile and listened to About Time. Very cool! I am hoping that all your success can rub off on me a little. Best, Nick.
Hey Nick... Thank you sir for the kind words. Let us make this year jam-packed with many successes my friend. Smile tons, Billy
HI Nick, thanks a lot for the review of my song "2 epoques" glad you like it. the best for4 this 2016!!
Your very welcome. I really enjoyed that! Good luck to you.
Thank you Nick for adding my track "Epic Trailer" to your favorite compositions playlist
My pleasure! Very exciting music!
I guess we keep running into each other... thanks for your nice review of my song "Sultry", Jeff. Much appreciated!
Hi Jeff, Thanks for your nice review of No Where To Go. If I change the genre from New Age, should I put it in rock? Thanks, Nick.
Definitely. It rocks!
Thanks for that great review of Crazy Genius! Really enjoyed some of your songs. Good luck to you. Nick.
Thanks Nick. I really liked Crazy Genius. I don't normally give out those kind of numbers unless something really grabs me.
Hi James, Thnaks for the generous review of Magic of Life. I'm glad that you liked it. Good luck to you. Nick.
It's one of the best pieces I've heard in a long time. Very tight and professional. I hope you get it placed.
Thanks. Me too.
Tormented, very nice! Definitely would make a great soundtrack to a film! -Wes
Thanks Wes. I have submitted Tormented for several licensing deals, but still have had no luck. Must keep plugging away. Thanks for listening.
