Has your publishing contracts succeeded in any way yet? Remember to ALWAYS have a release clause in any publishing rights agreement you sign as a songwriter. Ok? Also do get references of the signed materials that the publisher has had in the last 8 years or even most recent. Never give away any rights for a lifetime as what a publisher may have if you've not a release of those rights after five years. Always able to resign another timed agreement IF they need more time in their shopping abilities to gain $. Sadly there are publishers that just want to post they have hundreds of songs in their catalogue but forget to push them unless one of the big fish bites and then others may suffer waiting. Just be wise and no problems arise! Besides the Irish side of my fraternal grandma wouldn't allow me to let anyone from Ireland heritage get a bad burn in the biz if I could help it. God bless.
Latest release was a Spanish song I wrote called "Yo Tengo Un Amor" and another one called "Red Roses on the Floor" I performed live on TV in Spain. It was a TV talk show there in and one of the many bookings I had while in Europe plus in song writing I was writing about three a day... That's a lot when I was there from 2004 to 2007 and yet there are still more I've not shared but wish I could. Please everyone know the 'world needs music' as I said many years ago and proved "Music is a healing emotional tool" humanity needs to survive. Keep working at it for others and not for oneself and you'll learn that love is eternal even when life is shorter than you can imagine... or aka "Travel On" which is one of my earlier releases. Some of my songs were written before their time like "Draw The Line" or "Money's Worth" and the marketing continues. Stay healthy everyone!
PS: Those song releases CJP-NHRecords were in 2020 as my first LIVE recorded released songs. Also there are interviews of that time too found online at YouTube too.
So that you know I reviewed ALL the songs you submitted on time and date set by my Pro Reviewing. Unfortunately I keep getting messages inbox about them NOT being reviewed. There IS a new person on Broadjam staff named Michael and maybe there is an error made. I have ALL reviews for years on the office computer for verification as I wait to hear anything from them. Hope all is good and KEEP writing good songs!
Thank you for reviewing my songs. Charles
I am always HONORED that you ask me to hear your songs. Thank you and keep writing more!
I hope you are not too upset about the time reviewing your song(s) but I always believe when I contract to do reviewing or judging the contract that may change in price is honored. I'm waiting but will get to your song(s) ASAP. God bless.
Dear Nikki, just heard your "Momma's Blues" song and was going to write you and tell you that I really enjoyed your tune!!! 5 Stars & Likes! I really liked the Music Track and went to the Credits. You worked with Marty Rifkin, WOWZA! Marty Rifkin produced our CD "Tales of the New West",Corey's/ Buddy Jewell, that was picked up for National distribution back in 2003! Check it out on the Internet's. How long ago was your track produced?? Love to hook-up on Broad Jam Buddies..... Stay Safe wear a Mask! The Corey's...........
I've known Marty Rifkin for many years as he was from back East coast as I was if you read wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikki_Hornsby biography or go to CJP-NHRecords story page. The business I founded and licensed is still active but I'm in the phase everyone who knows businesses of phasing out since the time arrives for each of us to "Travel On". Also as a professional charted released songwriter there are many opportunities to continue ones God given gifts forever. I learned a great deal from exposure to the professional side of the business as a child but went through college with NO intent of making it my career but seems I had to finally accept the task when Union Agents and School Deans would send me out to sing and play. Even my first concert in VA a boyfriend booked for me since I didn't believe in myself but believed in the music. I still do as I know the value of it to all of mankind as a talent given if you listen to "Music Is The Only Thing" I wrote and released as Pop not long ago. Yes, Marty mastered that one too. There are technical points on the web if you need to know the details too. Now I have the office in Europe waiting on the line but stay in touch as I'm still alive and still writing plus doing ProReviews for BJ anytime they are submitted. I've been a judge nationally and international for talent but I LOVE discovering new talents for our music recording industry. Take care and stay healthy!
Dear NIKKI HORNSBY, great to hear back from you! I haven't worked with Marty in several years, but I send him emails now and then! Marty is a great producer and musician, but I wanted to try other genres and try producing our music with the help of other Producers & Gifted Musicians! Yes, Marty produced our CD,"Tales of the New West" songs of the Corey's/sung by Buddy Jewell. The CD was picked up for Nation Distribution, but was stopped when Loeb & Loeb put a stop to our project! Very Long story, but we did make some pretty Good Bucks for about 72 hours!!! Hee Hee! Love you to hear some of our recent material, Oh, just go to Broad Jam and look up Margie & Art Corey Songwriter's. We have recently composed a song, "She Thinks She's a Vampire" and believe it could work in a T. V. series, but we are finding it impossible to connect with the right Music Producers for the Show, "What We do in The Shadows". If you have any suggestions, we will pay you for your suggestions, we are that disparate!!! Toodles, Art & Margie Corey/BMI
Right now I'm sorry I can't help off the top of my head ... but let my brain engage since I have two or legal things to get through holding my priority and then some licensing agreements overseas for another one of my original songs - as a cover and I have a BMI issue as well... I've got a lot of stuff besides in marketing etc ... are you with ASCAP or BMI? I really do miss the studio work a lot needless to say as most songwriter musician singers do... but I trust Marty's engineering work a lot and would hire him if you can book a block of time anytime for any project. If he produced your work then he has connections with some outstanding musicians that would help your session out plus he comes from back east where I too grew up. Also many musicians are moving out of CA and returning there as things in LA aren't like they use to be. The internet solves that problem too not having to be there to add as a musician to any project. FYI- I closed CJP-NHRecords in LA a few years ago and moved it down in San Diego County even though people are exiting where I owned my home by music $ income for 23 years and was not far from beach... now friends are telling me too many people have 'drank the cool-aide' and even moved to Idaho... lol... That's a bit extreme to me but back home in VA I think is still ok if I was the running away kind. I love the blue ridge mountains of VA more than most and wrote a dobro & guitar piece when up there with my ClassA RV years ago called "Mathews Arms" playing it live even down to TX with great live responses, but I never got to record that one recorded either. Seems I had investment acquisitions and NARAS voting plus more in doctors isolating me from Covid-19 past everyone else's lock down but I'm still alive happily also alone too. At least for now. I'll try to get back on BJ to hear your work as only time I'm able to get here is to Pro Review submissions. Then I have still some consulting I give for a few with my reviews plus I am trying to keep people unknowingly taken advantage of by some bad folks in this world. It is like sharks swimming around the ocean of innocent songwriters around the world. Bugs me when they aren't aware of the process from A to Z and profiting from hard work. It's just that I have a reason God gave me the good ears and heart to help people although my accountants and CPAs of my past use to get very upset that my fee of $265 one hour wasn't demanded. Yeah, the money was not my goal but it was to help. Therefore, in conclusion let me think about the biz for your work... as my company is trying to do for my own multiple hundreds of songs in the catalogue of songs (they hold all property intellectual rights since 2008). I was the founder of this licensed biz that still is alive too! Now stay in touch and email cjpnh@hotmail.com if there's a follow up question I can help you with if I'm not back here for awhile. ok? Ciao ciao
As a pro reviewer who has reviewed a number of your songs I'm still waiting to get paid by Broadjam as I see three more submissions. I will review ASAP the three I have yet to review due to BJ's late paying my former reviews. Ok? Thank you for being understanding.
That is perfect. I'm sorry they are delaying your payment. Thank you!
Unfortunately the computer crashed weeks ago and unable to get to the reviews. Will do them this weekend and thank you for using Broadjams Pro Review. Sincerely, Nikki Hornsby
Absolutely no problem! Thank you!
This Is America. Great song! I just hope the lyrics will still be true!
Randall, The message to the song is, was, and should always be true to those who love the USA. It takes believing and glad you think the song is good. Thank you!
Yes, God help our country.
The lyrics always put off the Europeans who heard our USA Pride and seems the awesome Lady who was in politics that the song was written for just passed away in 2020 which reminds me that 2021 also is a short time for our love of God, country, and family I was raised with hopefully continues. The one good thing about the word HOPE that if you change only one letter it spells an active way to survive "COPE" and we all must for we were born for a reason. Take care of those gifts we are given to share with others when we learn what they are from the simplest to the most profound. Take care especially if you believe the lyrics of "This IS America" as Joan Milke Flores who inspired that song did! Wikipedia.org her name if you'd like to know more about a friend I know had to "Travel On" too.
good stuff!
Dear Mr. Mark, thank you very much for the kind posting. Sincerely, Nikki
Of course!
Just got your song for review today 1/25/2021. Looking forward to it. Happy New Year! Thank you!
Looking forward to your comments and any advice you might give us. Still trying to get someone interested in our work enough to give us a shot.
Just found the second submission today. I look forward to hearing this Spanish one too! Thank you for submission. God bless!
Today I reviewed but clicked to submit and it was not accepted. Will be back to why later as I tried three times and time is a factor for me. Ok? Thank you!
Happy Holidays to everyone on Broadjam. I've got another project that I was asked to complete soon. It's adding music to a preproduced video for an Alumni Class reunion. Of course I want to do a good job so it takes me longer plus the Covid-19 is not helping anyone in Southern CA USA. My office in Europe talks with me daily and it too isn't doing well with people over there either. Prayers are becoming an important thing in my daily tasks. Hope they are for everyone and all will be good! Be well and remember that life is short but eternity is forever as "This River Bends" ... shameful promo to a song...sorry.
All the best with this project Nikki
Thank you my friend in music, For us all it maybe seems the Covid-19 is slowing daily tasks and other things down to a crawl at this time too. Hopefully I can get that plus a few more waiting for my attention as soon as I am able. Prayers always help!
Guess my hearing your talent years ago was a good pick. Congrads on anything that makes it higher in recognition than you have in the past! Also thank you for keeping me in the loop of your successes. God bless in friendship, Nikki NIKKI HORNSBY posted 1 hour ago PS: Thierry, Not everyone can make even the first round of the Grammy submissions for NARAS which we did with your Pop arrangement of my (c) (p) song "Just Lovin' You" of which I will always be grateful. Know that when / if that arrangement or song makes it to a major licensing deal I will share that with you too. I'm proud of you. That's why I was so pleased with your work on this song of mine with arranging exactly as we discussed. That's a talent too since I've worked with some pretty great professional arrangers & artist in studio in the past. I'm blessed that I met you through Broadjam pro song reviewing which has shown me some pretty impressive talents on Broadjam over the years. God bless!
Will never thank you enough Nikki for believing in me that much. I ll always remember your guidance in 2012 and for years after. Thanks also for presenting Just Loving You at the Grammy's, it is an honour. xoxo
Thanks for your kind words! You are a such a talented, prolific composer and I'm definitely a new fan!
Is there a way I could buy Defenseless? It really gives me a boost of energy !

Have two new song released by CJP-NHRecords on YouTube & Viemo plus was going to place here on Broadjam first but rushed in office with more things to do. Will post the promo photos for anyone interested. God bless!
Ok the link then to YouTube: https://youtu.be/CYZhpOxT_l8 seems I couldn't find easy access to post here with limited time we have with more tasks.
That is a direct TV feed of a LIVE performance on TV IB3 in Spain. The interview I would like to post too. It was fun with the cute Spaniard men there.. I laughed in the interview pre a country song from "Just Wait" called Flyin Over Sweet Alabama.... ok I go.
Working on a photo slide show with two NEW original songs recorded live from TV & Radio in Spain. Hope CJP-NHRecords will release asap 2020. Look for it as it will have a Spanish original song plus one called Red Roses on the Floor (lyric in the photo slide show video). Recordings live are a challenge when NOT professionally recorded. But it's just a sample of two song medley. Maybe a second or third photo show video to follow depending on major factors starting with time.
Red Roses On The Floor and Yo Tengo Un Amor title of the songs performed live on IB3 TV in Spain Europe
Online Radio Station We Promote artist from around the world. Send song links or mp3's to overtheair.radio@gmail.com
How does this radio station online promote artists exactly? Do they pay registered royalties or is the station without advertisers? That's what I like to know. All the IMRO collecting would help if you, Milly, registered with them, have you? Go to my FB page whenever and sign up there as well as Twitter etc. too. Stay in touch if you'd like.
Great info Nikki.....and great to see your commitment to the musical arts. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas and Happy New Years. Best, Chet Nichols PS Please stop by my site and give me Christmas Song, "The Spirits Of Christmas" a listen. It will bring a tear to your eye and a smile on your face.
Wish I could Chet but it's the Grammy Open Window time needed for my votes and this is a lot of material to review but maybe will have time afterwards. God bless you and your loved ones. May yoy have a Great Holiday Season.
I understand. I am on the SAG/AFTRA/AMPAS Global nominating boards and so, we are watching a lot of movies and grading all aspects of the films. They send me boxes of movies and TV shows to watch, send me streaming links or just drop them into my iTunes account..... keeps me busy for 3-5 months. Merry Christmas ... Uncle Chester...
I've got two major projects on the desk now and one more was added along with a legal thang I must take care of asap. Seems I'm getting less time than more as time progresses in my life. I know life is short and eternity is forever and hope you'll understand why I've had no time. Must do the paid reviews first then the other projects. Not that I'm not caring... think that IS the issue. I care.... Take care of yourself.
Time is coming fast to judge the final top five NARAS on the last ballot so that in 2019 the TV awards will go to the happy winner. Good thing is after talking to the independent artist that have won in the past and I have supported with my votes when they are top in their genera and field winning. Certainly I am proud to see where my votes have definitely helped. This honor to be a Grammy Advocate Member as well as a NARAS voting member is such a heart filling experience for over ten years for me can not compare except to be in the studio myself. IT IS becoming harder for many to be honored with voting abilities as specialized as the NARAS requires but as professionals we know some things never change in this business over the years. Also the membership in the the NARAS is getting more difficult to just pay a fee. It is now possibly due to a lot of internet music being posted everywhere without the knowledge of the system in my opinion of the NARAS top award for music recording in the USA. Hint: IF the song is not distributed by a label in the USA plus a few other facts given to the powers that be working in Santa Monica NARAS committee then it's not going to qualify to be on the ballot in the first place. Amazingly this to a business persons mind opens up a the distribution field of the recording industry for profits and losses. Some day I might have a blog to explain a lot of what I have learned through the years by international experiences and I've been talking often in a one to one with winners of Grammy's. Remember there is a sales effect of product even being NOMINATED (Grammy Effect) and that is for a high percentage of net returns. I know as an artist musician myself with some long years of studio experiences it's actually a process to take off one hat of the creating artists and put on the other hat of the business person who does all the other work as it takes a great deal. Then there is the Labels with the set up distribution network and major marketing team proven to reach success and rewards besides the touring aspect etc. etc. Remember over all... NO ONE knows the key factor but if you talk to contractors building houses looking at the architects drafts there will be a repeating thread on each building from foundations to inspections to final pain jobs. Please for my caring sake for all the arts... Don't listen too much to the "Hot Talkin' Big Shot"s people who tend to want to sell you a bridge somewhere that really ends no where. I know the responsibility I hold is to my lifetime career and all the research helps through validation. Or as a carpenter to measure twice and cut once but start measuring ten times if needed and cut your tracks once but GET THEM MASTERED. Reading that data from research plus other elements are important for reaching your goals in the music recording industry of course... but we as writers online or off ALL KNOW it starts with the creative process of the single song and it can be a great return in $ or a great dry cupboard of famine that maybe frightening. That's when the support of your faith and often any community with proven success will help you with positive pointers the most as I've tried to do and will continue when I am asked. Since I have had many awesome notable mentors in my life I pass my Hornsby Family Music Inheritance forward regarding the inheritable intellectual properties of the arts which is a very VALUABLE asset. May God bless & Happy Holidays to all. Ciao ciao, Nikki
Hi Nikki, thank you for the comment. All is ok here in Ireland! I haven't written any new material at all in so long, it must be at least a year! I felt I wasn't getting anywhere, wasting my time (and money) and just stopped.. I suppose I lost hope abit. Very busy also with other things, new family business!! Wow that's hard. Hope all with you too..I am a catholic yes and the pope was here recently but I didn't get to join in the celebration.. but did watch some of it on TV! It was very exciting! I hope all is good with you in U.S. God Bless Milly
PS: I don't know if you are Catholic but I was watching the Pope's travels and wish I could travel along seeing such love that the people share with their faith. God bless!
Hello Milly, I hope all is going well for you in Ireland these days. All is good in So. CA but was checking in on you. God bless and may you be well and keep hope in the heart since all else is only the first letter changed to make hope into cope. Yes? Ok. May God bless and appreciate prayers for the people I know in VA, NC, & SC who are surviving the storms. Thank you!
Edited prior sent: I have been receiving some original music CD for my listening for the first round (aka a ballot) of the NARAS since the submission window closed. Have always a great heart filling time in fulfilling this great HONOR of judging for the annual Grammy's for awhile plus being an Advocate for all songwriters, musicians, producers, engineers, etc. in the music recording industry for OVER TEN year! All those who are professional members with that ability to vote knows if honest it IS a humbling situation. Also although I have researched exactly how to win a Grammy it is by many paths that is only one step to get on the ballots. There are many specific ways but it's the old saying "many roads to Rome" but many of us by our time in the industry know the truth. Sorry I've not been here on Broadjam.com as I use to get called to do my intense reviews which I was ALWAYS available for doing that too. Now I've also been busy with praying for my many childhood, college, and industry friends who are in VA, NC, & SC during the hurricane but it's the after clean up that is truly tragic. Asking everyone to pray please since these ARE the states I am bonded to for living and knowing good people as well as in CA and all of the USA including Europe plus. God bless and may everyone continue to make music always. Don't stop no matter how difficult it maybe as it's a gift given by God to give to others always. Ciao ciao!

Hi Nikki, Thanks for the kind note. I have been very busy with writing and producing especially since over-coming some health issues....so all clear with those issues. Have, yet, another album coming out this week...the theme is the draw, dreams and deceptions of Hollywood.....interesting mix of tunes. Anyway, hope all is well with you and that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is a swelling wave of joy, joy, joy.... Best......Chet
I'm still around but not here as much as I could or would be IF anyone needed a review. I do have a lot of tasks building up around CJP-NHRecords office plus my personal life gets complicated like anyone else. Using those complications and positives to write as all songwriters do plus I keep my ears open for other great musical compositions world wide by others. So I must go now keeping my sense of humor - so many things I've not accomplished today but I am SURE now I am first in line for doing it all by Christmas .... ho ho ho and God bless!
Thierry, I'll always be your CA contact anytime you need me. Your talent impressed me long time ago and does nothing but improve. Ciao, Nikki
Thanks Nikki. I am soooo late here on BJam. Will never have enough of my living time to catch up :-)... Thanks to keep in touch.
Will do as I am honored by your talents. God bless
Hey Hank, Keep playing and sharing your love of music always. Ciao, Nikki
I sure will Nikki! Hank
Keep writing and sharing your work always. God bless, Nikki
Congratulations for your music work. God bless & thank you for sharing your gifts.
PS: If the 4 out of 4 cuts from the Nikki Hornsby Video Highlights ound isn't coming through here on Broadjam - please go google online and it should be on youtube or viemo or somewhere like that in sections 1 to 4 of 4 and also you may find the contents on www.cjp-nhrecords.com pages. Enjoy!~
