Some very beautiful stuff you have up here Rob, congratulations!
Many thanks, Mark. That is very kind of you. All the best, Rob
Hi, Rob, we've both been selected for the 'classical' opp, just listening to some of your tracks, very diverse Rob, great skill and musicianship, awesome. Mike.
Thanks, Michael, nice to hear from you. I have just listened to some of your music too, and enjoyed it all.... particularly liked C breeze,
Hi Rob, C breeze is from my very early days, I was heading down the route of jazz/funk and blues but needs must, I need commercial tracks that get work so I've gone for a style I can make very convincing such as piano and light orchestration, luckily I enjoy playing any style.
Dear Bob, Me again. Thanks for your very kind review of 'Malaguena'. Best wishes Rob
Dear Kate, Thank you very much for your kind and supportive reviews of two of my piano tracks, Loweswater and Round Danse. Really appreciated. Nice to see and hear your work too, what an incredible portfolio of creativity. I bet the kids love your music, and, though you say the lockdown has halted your activity, I am sure that will be temporary, and that the Indiana children will soon be singing and dancing along with your ebullient songs. God bless you, and good luck with the sewing too. All the best, Rob.
Thank you, Rob! How encouraging!
Thanks very much, Nigel, for your kind review of my piano piece Prayer. Much appreciated. All the best, Rob.
Dear Ante, Thanks for your nice review of Dingle Dangle Scarecrow. It was just a bit of fun, and you are right, I am a massive Steely Dan fan too! All the best Rob.
Hi Rob - it's me again! Thanks for reviewing the edited instrumental version of "What About My Reward". My page has the full vocal version, as well as a re-mix done by Stuart Epps (Elton John, Led Zeppelin, George Harrison). Glad you like it and the story-song lyrics hopefully complete the picture. It's about a pseudo-Good Samaritan who only does good deeds for recognition and fortune.
Great, thanks, Bob. I'll have a listen. I enjoyed the instrumental a lot, so look forward to the vocal. Best wishes Rob
Wow, great stuff. I like both versions. The Stuart Epps remix is very spacious, and I love what he's done to the sustained guitar backing chords, but the original version certainly stands up in its own right. I love the lyrics and concept of the song, the three verse sequential structure, and the dead snappy refrain, really catchy and memorable. As someone else said, I could imagine that going down well in a big arena venue. What a great song. Thanks a lot.
Thank YOU and glad you enjoyed it! That entire song was created in 3 hours with only myself (vocals), a great studio drummer and an amazing guitarist who plays all guitar parts AND bass. We actually completed 4 songs in a single-day session so I'm pretty proud of it.
Thanks for the thorough and excellent review of Music Man Tonight, Rob! This was recorded in 3 hours with only a drummer, myself on all vocals, and a brilliant guitarist who played all parts including bass. All your points are well taken though, and some day I'd love to be able to spend more time to fine tune things.
A pleasure. I am not stalking you, just keep getting your tracks to review, and I have really enjoyed them all! They are quite varied too, but I really did like the recording on that last one, and it shows what you can do in three hours with a great song and some excellent musicians alongside.
Ha! No, I realize about the stalking part. Funny, Broadjam apparently has a limited supply of artists willing to be reviewed. There are 3 in particular that have come up 30+ times for me, so once I realize it's them I just click out. Kind of strange.
In fact, if you start reviewing often enough the name Sam Cooper will just keep coming and coming. He has 205 songs on here, and I've probably listened to parts of 150 of them while trying to review various styles.
That's funny! You don't get to know the artist you're reviewing till you push the button, but I guess you have Sam's style taped by now!
Wow - thank you for the perfect score on "Leave Ohio Behind", Rob! Over the years I've updated the song somewhat but it was one of the first songs I ever wrote back in the mid 70s. It only took me 45 years to get into the studio, but glad you enjoyed it!
Dear Sam, Thanks very much for your kind review of 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow'. Glad you liked the vocals and sax as they were me!
Thank you for your review of "Adrift". I appreciate your suggestions!
Thanks Jeana. You've got some great music on here, and nice to hear from you. All the best Rob
Thanks, for listening, Rob. I listened to a couple of your pieces, you are quite accomplished.
Many thanks, and so are you! Best wishes, Rob
Thanks for your wonderful review of my intro to "That's One Thing". To get the full picture, go to my page and listen to the full track, which explodes into high gear in a rocking 2nd half, inspired by bands like INXS and Rush.
Thanks, Bob. I see now how that ties in with the longer track. That's a great song in its totality. You've got a fantastic voice in my opinion, and you deliver this with immense gusto. Super recording and production too, a lot of work has gone into this I can imagine. Really warm sound, but vibrant and full of live performance energy. You have a lot of talent, and I really enjoyed hearing this. I can feel the pain which inspired it too! Best wishes, Rob.
I appreciate the kind words, and glad you liked the full version, Rob!

Rob! Syria really moved me! What imagination! But I kept hoping it would break out in a 4/5 shuffle! This old piano teacher gives you a GOLD star on this piece! By the way--WELCOME to Broadjam! Catnip

Thank you for the stellar review brother. I'm not classically trained, don't understand theory like I could, just really love music and the many forms it has taken. I liked your ideas though and thought your advice was rooted in a strong education of your craft. For that I am grateful for your time and insights into my production. Thank you. Swing by sometime... You should hear the stuff we're good at:) N
Thank you so much Rob for your very thoughtful and highly detailed review of "Occupational Hazard." It's so very much appreciated. It's very humbling to receive such an encouraging review from such a talented musician.
