Thank you! Cathy
Enjoyed dropping by for a listen.
Beautiful words and a lovely song.
A beautiful song.
These days I'm a writer, not a performer.
Goodness Sakes, Robin. I'm gonna have to pray for humility after reading that glowing review of Porch Swing. Thank you! I just got home from an 11 day tour. Left at 4:00 a.m. this morning to get home just after 9 to Porch Swing Place (the home we built and named after the Porch Swing Lady, Mrs. Sauls.) There truly is NO PLACE LIKE HOME. Thanks again, My friend from France! Mrs. Kate
Another really good song - and I'm a sucker for any song featuring a flute! I like the lyrics and the melody. Good song.
A beautiful song, beautifully performed.
Hello Robin in France. Glad you liked my sewing song. It's autobiographical of course. If you go yo my website you can see my quilts. God bless you and thank you for the review! MRS. KATE
A nice finale. I have very much enjoyed all your songs. You have this writer's respect.
Thank you, Robin. What a nice comment, thanks for taking time to write.
A brilliant song.
Thank you, Robin. I wish I knew what song you were referring to. This system is a little tricky...I never saw your comments. So sorry.

Thanks for listening to "Salvation Army Man". This was a person I actually knew back in the 60's. I worked in a downtown library right out of college. Glad you enjoyed the song. Marilyn
My pleasure, Marilyn. It's a great song. Real people and real stories make the best songs.
I am a singer songwriter. I write songs to make people smile and laugh as well as reflect on the past, think about now and maybe even dream about the future. Words are my passion. I am a wordsmith. Most of the melodies that take my words from page to performance are mine; although sometimes I collaborate with other musicians and my thanks go to them for their important contributions to some of the songs I write and sing. I have sung my songs to a handful of people and to audiences in their hundreds; as a member of a trio and duo and, more recently, just me. As a trio, we were under the same management as a then local band, The Elizabethans, who would find global fame as Smokie. My first airplay came with a Christmas song in the mid '70s. My songs have had further online radio exposure in recent years, having generally first featured on albums recorded by independent artists in the UK, South Africa, the US, Canada, Austria and the Netherlands. More recently, my songs have been arranged, recorded and mixed in professional recording studios in South Africa and Nashville. Although my roots are in Folk Music, I do not to limit what I write to this or any one style. I was inspired originally more by the words and music coming out of Greenwich Village and US colleges in the early '60s than by traditional British folk songs; although somewhere along the way the two styles have come together to influence what I write now. More recently, my writing has taken me into the world of Country Music. It is a genre that suits my style as a storyteller. I am a member of the Performing Right Society and, whilst perhaps not a prolific writer, I have written in excess of 200 lyrics, with new songs always at some stage of completion. My songs do not date, but my writing style has developed over the years and some of my earlier lyrics have changed to better reflect where I am now and hopefully to give new life to songs in need of a makeover. Although I continue to sing, my preference is to write songs for others to sing. I consider it a wonderful acknowledgment and compliment. Easily remembered and catchy melodies and the rhythmic and poetic content of the lyrics make my songs easy to sing. I tell people I have an addiction to rhyme and a rambling soul! I am, in the words of one of my songs, a poet in a contradictory style.
I am an English songwriter living in France.
