My BUddies.... The Trouts! Hey, thanks for the great review of my song, "Hawk Market"! It comes from my 1974 album, "Waving Prairie". Had a nice group of musicans with me on this album. Thanks, again....and I hope you are having a jolly good Summer! Best, Chet Nichols

Hi Malcolm, It's a great song and very much deserved the review. I'll certainly be giving the rest of your repertoire a listen to. Keep up the good work and good luck! Alan (The Trouts)
Greetings! This is Patrick Dieter. I reviewed one of your songs around a month ago, but didn't have any of my own stuff up yet. I cared enough to be honest, so you may or may not have actually liked my review. Whatever the case, I would be honored to receive a review and/or critique from you of my first song. Thanks and I wish you well!
Hey Trout Lovers! Thanks for the kind review of my song, "Time Loop", the title tune to my first album back in 1971, "Time Loop". I had Nicky Hopkins (The Rolling Stones) on piano, Dave Garabaldi (Tower Of Power) on drums and Pete Sears (New Riders/Starship) on bass. Fun session that still holds up. I think Nicky's piano work is one of the best of that era....but, I am partial. Best to you! Chet Nichols
Wow! Great line up! I thought I could hear quality in this track but would never have guessed it was recorded over 40 years ago! I'll definitely be playing more of your tunes. Great stuff!
Thanks for reviewing The Parasites of Paradise. I appreciate the feedback :)
Hi there. Thank you for the very thorough review of my song 'When I'm feeling blue'. It will be of great use to me. You also picked up on a few flaws that other reviewers have pointed out so I will definitely use this to try and improve the song. I'll be giving your stuff a good listening too very soon. Cheers Alan

I'll definitely listen to your album Waving Prairie and the rest of your stuff. You're a very talented guy. Keep it up yourself, mister!
Hi Thanks for the review of Little Miss Flirtatious. A reworked vocal is the priority - hopefully it'll be closer to its potential then ;) Greg
Yes, the song has definite potential. The voice fits it's just a tuning issue if that makes sense. Keep at it though!
Thanks for taking the time to review Life's A Circus. I'll consider your feedback when I rework the song. Regards Greg
Anita. Many thanks for your review of my tune 'Into the Valley' and I have to say I have left similar comments about similar songs. I have played in orchestras in the past and appreciate the beauty of a live performance. This is the first time I have used this 'Orchestra' and, given the limitations, I am quite pleased with the result. Many thanks Matt
Hi Anita. Thank you very much for the review of Sow the Seeds. I agree with your comments- the production does let it down a bit. Just listening to some of your stuff. I am very impressed. Great piano work! Your songs are full of atmosphere and you have a very distinctive style. Excellent- keep em coming!
Thanks for your very useful and positive review of our song Dance with me. I shall be listening to your material very soon. Al

Hi. Just been plying a couple of your tracks. I really like your style. You write great lyrics and I love the guitars. You said that you thought we had a similar style I see what you mean but you're a lot more accomplished at what you do. Keep it up.
Really liked 'if i could walk on water' and 'hey mr spaceman'.
Nice comment but not so sure about my "accomplishments" Look forward to staying in touch. I will sing the praises of "The Trouts"
Not so many girls another solid track. Feels like the music of Cake to me which is a big thumbs up in my book.
Thank you for your comments, Jeff. I'm going to have a listen to your stuff very soon. Will let you know what I think. Cheers, Al (The Trouts)

Thank you for your review of my song 'Strange'. I thought it was extremely useful, and thorough and will take all your comments on board and, hopefully, improve on my song writing. Cheers, Al (The Trouts)
I hope it was clear that I care SO much more for efforts like yours than a thousand well-produced "oh aren't I cute" efforts. Please keep me posted on what you're doing!!
Thanks to The Trouts for reviewing "God's Child". I'm laughing because you said the song didn't have much commercial value, but that's why it's classified 'folk/alternative'.....also, the percussion was listed as 'ok' yet Buff Allan, one of Canada's foremost jazz drummers was on the sticks. Just shows to go ya.....
Shows what I know about drums
Ah well, there's more important things in life :D
Yo Fishes! Beautiful job on Raindrops, bros. Sad Songs are my favorites. Sending you a Pal request so we can swim together to the Top! Belly Up! - Nick
Hi Trouts - Thanks for the sweet review of Crazy Good Day. I like your sound a lot--fresh, unique, even. Way to go!
Re: my review of your song 'Untouched'. Sorry, but the song had a country feel to my ears, but I'm certainly no expert! Now I know you're not into country I shall definately listen to some more of your stuff. I would never have guessed that you played all the instruments yourself. You're a talented guy, good luck and keep it up! Alan
No big deal. We all hear things differently. I can see where the slide guitar might create a hint of that country sound. Artists such as Neil Young, The Band, Wilco, Elvis Costello and even Led Zeppelin (in "Tangerine") have dipped their feet into the shallow end of the country pool without being considered "country" so I consider myself in good company.
Thanks for your review of my song "Untouched". I appreciate the comments, especially since I sang and played all the parts except the percussion. Just wanted to let you know that I dislike country probably as much as you. The song was written as an attempt at classic jazz, something that I could imagine being sung by Billie Holliday. The chord progression is filled with minor 9ths, 7ths and maj 7ths, definitely nowhere in the vicinity of countryville. My original intent was to record it with a jazz quartet, but a lack of cash got in the way and I adapted by using slide guitar and organ sounds to create the sound you hear. Anthony (The Spermatochords)
Hi, thanks for your kind review of my song 'Dry your eyes'. Have just been listening to a few of your tracks- you are a talented songwriter and musician. I'm sure you'll go far. Keep 'em comin'. Al (The Trouts)
Thanks for listening. Where are you from?
