Hi Christy, I love the voice and yes the song.....I too could go on about the submission game here at BJ...The competition is stiff. that only makes us better, so between "no members selected" and the listings which state "vocals and instrumentals"....Thats a sucker listing. they never select an instrumental. hey, I got off on a tangent for a minute!.. I'll get to the point... do you ever collaborate? Thanks Marvin. SKY HIGH MUSIC LABS...
Hi Marvin, thanks for reaching out and totally relate. :) I haven't collaborated before, but am very open to it. What do your collaborations usually look like? Ever collaborated with a lyricist? - Christy
Hi Bob, your note made my day. :) I wish I could say it was my voice, but it's a vocalist I work with on some of my songs. She is incredible at bringing the emotion that I want to express the lyrics/story. And, it is so hard to get so close to being selected and then they just aren't quite the right thing. I'm hoping that one day it will be the perfect match for something. Congrats on getting so close as well. I wish you luck and will look out for your music! Christy (aka Violet Pen)
Hi Christy, Good, it is a wonderful song and your vocalist certainly does it proud. The submission system is a controversial subject amongst several of us at the moment but probably something I shouldn't go into publicly!! As it happens I didn't get anywhere on that particular opportunity but that's fine. I am hoping for one of my songs to be released this weekend but won't count my chickens until they're hatched, neither will I put the down-payment on that villa in the sun either! Lots of luck, nice to be in touch. Bob
Hi, I just wanted to tell you how much I was moved by your song Just A Memory. We both put songs in for the same opportunity and sometimes when I'm not successful (99.9% of the time!) I listen to those that were selected and considered, just to get a feel for what was required, that's how I came across your song. It's really beautiful, I wish you every success with it. I couldn't see any credits, is that your vocal? Whoever it is adds so much to the emotions already in the lyrics? Good luck and thanks, Bob
Hi Bob, I'm sorry for the delay in responding. Thank you so much for taking the time to share you feelings about my song. I wish I could take credit for singing it but I don't have a voice. I hired a vocalist who sings on many of my songs. She brings such feeling to the words. I wish you the best of luck on your own music. You never know who is going to hear it and be moved or feel like it's the perfect song for an opportunity. :) Thanks again, Bob. - Christy
Thanks, Kenney, for your note about my lyrics. It means the world to know that you felt them.
"Who I was Meant to Be" is simply beautiful. What a joy to listen to! - Nan Michaels
Thank you, Nan! It makes me happy to hear that. I just checked out a couple of your songs and I love the the fire and attitude I felt when listening. You are a talented songwriter.
