Born in Tripoli, moved to Guam, then back to Montana, I traveled the globe before I was 12. Then the parents divorced and I really moved around. After graduating high school back in Great Falls, I headed for the U.S.Navy and points beyond the horizon. I traveled a bit more, circumnavigating the planet two more times. Settling in San Antonio, I learned more about people and less about places. Always in search of God, my jouney led me through highs and lows I could not have otherwise imagined. Then the rain stopped and the Son came out again. Now the mettle has been tested and it's time to get to work. You might say, I have a bit of catching up to do. But I'm alive, well, invigorated and eager to get started. Here's to second chances!
My Life in Music
As my dad was in the Air Force, we moved a lot as a kid, but mom usually took over as choir director wherever we went. I started singing in church choir at the tender age of 4. Bongo drums were in my life as far back as I can remember. Fifth grade was brass instruments, primarily French Horn. High school included two years of Great Falls High School Delphian Choir, which toured, cut albums, won major contests and competitions, etc. After high school was the Navy Mens' Choir. A few years later, I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio studying Vocal Performance. I've been teaching private voice, piano and guitar lessons ever since. I did 2 years with the San Antonio Opera Theatre and 2 years with Alamo City Theatre. I've cut 3 CD's, including a live concert. I am currently working on a CD project for the Childrens' Bereavement Center of South Texas, due to be out this summer. I currently lead the contemporary worship program at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church, performing twice a week. Also in my band are my new wife and three of my children (yes, I teach). I am a registered member of ASCAP and write contemporary Christian material almost exclusively now. I have sung for more weddings and funerals than I can remember. I have a private teaching studio in my house, but have plans to upgrade it to a recording studio as well.
