Man of Music
A Louisiana native, Dane first found a love for music at family parties, dancing to everything from blues to pop in the early 80’s. Growing Up in the small town of Ferriday, he watched as his uncles rehearsed and play countless songs. Deciding this was something he wanted to get into; he tried learning to play the piano. Nevertheless, with him being impatient and just wanting to have fun, Dane decided not to pursue that any further. Later after being exposed to UGK, 8Ball & MJG, Luke and hearing Master P’s I’m Bout It! He decided he wanted to be a rapper. He started a group with 3 other friends only to do one song and perform for his middle school, that dream died before it could even start. Motivated to be a good rapper he continued writing and practicing. Next he got a chance to shine at a high school talent show only to be discouraged by the sound quality and the final outcome, he decided to step away again. Still writing poetry from time to time, he was okay just being a military man and practicing on the keys, until hooking up with WhoYaWit Records. This time he was working more on the production side of the house, working on a couple of songs and putting out one (Last Words), it was then he met PPE, A Glen Burnie, MD based powerhouse that took the game very seriously. Now with WhoYaWit relocating to Florida and Dane suddenly being deployed to Iraq, he begins to think that music was not for him. Being away from friends, the world he knew and not knowing whether he would be coming back home, he used poetry as an outlet to keep him focused. Six months later Dane returned with a new attitude, focus and motivation to be a great music producer. He went to the local Guitar Center picked up this program he kept hearing about, brought a computer and went to work. Now a member of PPE, Dane spends countless hours crafting hits and creating his own unique sound. Like a mad scientist he will just zone out forgetting everything and everyone just to achieve his goal.
