Midwestern Goodness
Eric Paul is an artist who has been creating music since high school. Although his musical training and experience is deeply rooted in the classical genre, Eric has always felt a strong pull toward pop rock music. In college, Eric was the keyboardist/guitarist for Shakti, an Iowa City based rock band which enjoyed local success with a loyal following. After graduation, armed with a degree in Music Composition, Eric set out for the real world and quickly found it's difficult to pay bills doing the occasional arrangement and transcription, not to mention working at a recording studio making next to nothing. After getting a job outside of his concentrated field, Eric was able to save enough money to record many of the songs that had accumulated in his head for years. In 2009 Eric invited long time friend and Led By Last drummer, Troy Mariman into the mix. Since then they have recorded over twenty songs together, one of which is set to be featured in the movie "Friends With Benefits" due out in July 2011. A new album is set for release also in July. Both Eric and Troy are determined to get the Eric Paul name to the masses, one fan at a time.

The album title "Midwestern Goodness" makes sense if you put it in context. Eric is a Christian. In his boldness to put music in the public eye, he hopes to talk about the good news and reach an audience that hasn't otherwise heard.
