With his elegant blend of Classical Orchestral, Jazz, Folk, Electronic and Ambient styles, Jason Barber is quickly emerging as one of the most diverse and sought after composers of the new century.

Jason Barber: Composer Bio

Born in 1970 into a musical and creative family, Jason showed great talent for music at an early age. With the encouragement from his family, he began learning guitar at age 5 and quickly developed his musical skills learning piano, drums and analog and digital synthesizer programming by the time he was 13. At age 16 Jason became interested in music production and soon began training as a sound technician and recording engineer under some of the best engineers and musicians in the industry.

While earning his degrees in Jazz Composition and Electronic Music at the University of Utah, Jason became increasingly interested in film and attended courses in film technique and screen-writing in addition to his musical studies. After his graduation Jason founded Media Arts Entertainment where he acted as President and studio chief in both the U.S. and Germany until 2001. Jason then went on to co-found Kinetic Pictures where he became active in project development in addition to nurturing his robust career as a composer and music publisher.

Today Jason works exclusively as a composer for film, television, advertising and new media collaborating with such notable Directors as Christopher Clark ("Wrinkles"), Anton Jarvis ("Patsy") and Angela Soper ("It Happened in Farmland"). He currently resides in Utah with his Wife and 4 children.
