J.Dott Bio
The concrete cracked and the black rose grows.? That short excerpt basically describes the life story of Jean Armand Nerette aka J-Dott Com. Jean, a proud native of the West Indies, migrated to the United States in the late 1980's to Long Island, New York. During his time in New York City Dott began to grow a love for music which he feels allowed him to temporarily escape this struggle he calls life. Dott brings a certain swagger to Mogul Urban that can never be replaced and with his distinct personality he will never fail to entertain.
Born June 24th, 1981, J-Dott found out early in life what the word pain really meant. Shortly after he was born his mother left him and wasn?t heard from for another six years. From a very young age Jean was left to fend for himself with the streets as his mentor. "Life's good, when the lights are on, but when the chips are wrong and pops is gone, you gotta hold your head and get that bread" is what J-Dott shares to the world in one of his most personal tracks, entitled ?Tats?, a song named after his younger sister, Marietta, who is one of his many but closest siblings. Despite having to do what he had to do to survive Dott Com never allowed this to cripple his ability to entertain and put a smile on your face.
A New Yorker by heart, J- Dott Com is currently lighting up the streets of Allentown, PA and the rest of the Lehigh Valley with his contagious flow, and catchy rhymes. J-Dott brings to the table a mixture of influences having grown up in the 80?s and early 90?s, which includes artists such as Slick Rick; A Tribe Called Quest; Nas; and Jay-Z. J-Dott wanted to seperate himself from the rest which led him to becoming the young poetic, yet slick talking, street smarted wise guy that he not only portrays in his rhymes, but in reality.
?I'm a hustler now, my gear is in, and I'm in the in-crowd, and all the wavy light-skinned girls is lovin me now.? Those lyrics by Jay-z basically put young Jean Nerette?s transition from the streets to a smooth talkin, female snatchin, club goer into perspective. When the cards were stacked against him he never failed to succeed and he plans on taking that same will to survive with him into the cut throat entertainment industry. He brings to Mogul Enternational a certain style and energy that Hip-Hop has been missing. With his arrogant style and charming personality it?s impossible not to get drawn into the world of J-Dott Com.
