Citing influences as diverse as Soul Coughing, American Music Club and Elliot Smith, John is one of the most intriguing new songwriters you will find on the scene today: a former toxicologist turned writer of sparkling and emotional songs. Iconoclastic and left-field indie-rock - biting and beautiful lyrics, melodies at times haunting but always spine-tinglingly good.
His debut album - strange attractors - was released in 2002 (limited numbers still available through Matchbox Recordings) and was followed by a tireless regime of gigs. This material won praise from around the world. Carried by Radio Waves was a runner up in the 2003 Unisong Songwriting Competition.
The follow up album - bad things happen all the time - is available now through the Magnatune online shop - they are not evil.
