Late 1995 I was woken in the middle of a dream to the sounds of a guitar riff playing to a constant drum beat. The words and music that were coming into my mind were the first lines of my first song. It's a powerful poem/song on the use of guns.
Soon my life was to take a sharp turn. The doors were opening. Poetry as song was the way I needed to express myself as an artist - with 3 chords and the truth - maybe more than 3! The first song that Bob Dylan ever wrote "Let Me Die In My Footsteps" came to my mind. It seemed better to live a dream than to dream of a life.
It eventuated that my 5th gig was in Sydney Town Hall, solo to 5000 people as part of a Rally To Save The Forests. Late in 1996 I recorded the song from my dream on my first album, "The Arrow Is Drawn". Since then I've performed live many times, built my own studio and still trying to perfect the craft.

2012 Bio
Kim Imber...
may be described as a poet/songwriter with soul. He realised his passion and gift as a songwriter whilst writing his doctoral thesis relating to Shamanism. One may say it was almost like being "struck by the hand of God". Academia out, songwriting in. He also realised that songwriting and performing was the perfect vehicle for him to express his unique holistic view of the human condition, his philosophies, politics and spirituality.
Having been influenced by many of the Poets of Rock' n Roll, Kim's earth-based rhythms, guitar playing, melodies and natural sense of musical meter help to create a synergy intended to draw the listener into the spell of the song. Accordingly, Kim aims to record his songs in a way that maintains the integrity of his live act, where he plays guitar and harmonica backed with percussion/drums.
Continually honing his craft and performance skills, Kim has performed at small clubs, venues and various festivals around Tasmania. He has performed live on local ABC and community radio stations and receives the occasional airplay. Kim has recently completed his 4th full length CD.
