La Via is John DiModica on bass and Ed Maina on sax. John and Ed have been close friend for decades. They've made their mark as sought-after sidemen with impressive and diverse resumes. John is a Downbeat Magazine award winner, and Ed is a member of the Blues Hall of Fame. They formed La Via with one purpose in mind... to make a unified bold musical statement. 2025 Update!

While La Via is no longer viable, John DiModica and Ed Maina are still at work composing and performing as individuals.  The song “Beyond the Stars” recently made it to the Finalist round in the 2024 USA Songwriting Competition in the Jazz Category. Additionally, the song “A Love Song” is currently number 9 on the Broadjam Smooth Jazz Charts.
