Melodrome delivers contemporary rock music with a slight retro flavour. Think U2 meets Beck and then hangs out with the Stones. Simple, pulsing drums, smooth, tight bass lines, haunting guitars and a hypnotic vocal sound combine to make a sound so deep it might change your DNA. They are contemporary rock with an emotional resonance, lyrical, but with an edge. Melodrome blends sampling with the warmth of vintage recording gear to create a sound that is theirs alone.

Bio
Melodrome's strength as a contemporary musical force is derived from the very sum of it's parts. Frontman Robby Baier, winner of the Musician' s Atlas Independent Music Award for best pop/rock song (2002), and two-time Boston Music Award nominee, has teamed up with Darren Todd to create the band's unique brand of melodic hooks. Todd, a gifted multi-instrumentalist, has toured internationally with Arlo Guthrie appearing at Farm Aid and Carnegie Hall, and is an accomplished performer and instructor of classical guitar. Driving the music is the group's extraordinary rhythm section, bassist Jesko Stahl, and drummer Matt Sloan. Stahl, a former bandmate of Robby's in the Berlin-based "Pearls At Swine" (BMG/Ariola), is a composer and engineer, with film scores and album productions to his credit. Drummer Matt Sloan, a multi-instrumentalist in his own right, studied with renowned jazz drummer Randy Kaye (Jimmy Giuffre, Jimi Hendrix), and has recorded and toured with Mark Curry (Virgin), and various other regional acts. Combined, Melodrome's infectious musical acumen has garnered the band unsolicited praise from fans across the country, even causing one critic from The Boston Globe to support that praise by writing "The Sidewalk Ends" is "...a cache of strong originals topped by a few outstanding tracks worthy of National attention."
