Long rumored to be the sixth Beatle, Mike Maker is widely hailed as "The King of Foporoco", the unique blend of rock, pop, folk and country music that he pioneered. He is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who has performed in bands and solo on four continents. He has played and sung with seminal bands like the Fabulous Beyondos and the Flying Finegans in Chicago and the Woodpeckers in Los Angeles. His first CD, "Laugh til You Cry", received critical acclaim and airplay on college radio. "So Far from Home", one of the songs from the CD, made the nationwide Broadjam Top Ten. Apart from his music, Mike Maker is probably best known for repeatedly getting his tongue stuck to frozen metal objects during bitter Chicago winters. No one knows why.

Band Bio
Mike Maker formed The Earthshakers in 2007, drawing on some of the top musical talent in the Chicago area. Mark Litin, the Earthshakers' drummer, has pounded the pagan skins in every known kind of band, from rock to jazz to avant garde. It is a great comfort to Mike to know that no matter how weird a song he writes, Mark has played about fifty things that are infinitely weirder. Brian Murphy, the Earthshakers' bassist, has spent more time in the pocket than lint. Brian was blessed with an incredibly discerning and persnickety ear and therefore has become the band's quality control Czar. He rules the band with an iron fist, and will brook no mistakes or tomfoolery. However, other than that, Brian doesn't care. Ben Shachter, the Earthshaker's electrifying lead guitarist, can best be described as an enigma wrapped in a mystery wrapped in a flour tortilla. No one, not even his band mates, knows who he really is, where he comes from, or anything else about him. They are not even sure how he became a member of the band. All they remember is that he was suddenly there at one of the rehearsals, insisting that he had been playing with them for months, and reminding everyone of various events and happenings on "the South America tour", which no one else in the band can recall. Still, he plays really well, so no one has made an issue of it.
