Paul Priest is a writer/producer. He writes in three genres: Adult Contemporary, Rock, and Folk. He lives in Vancouver, Canada and collaborates with local session musicians to produce demonstration recordings at Mushroom Studios and Creation Studios.
Born in England, Paul Priest grew up in Windsor, Ontario. He played saxophone in the school band and studied guitar. Throughout high school, he was the guitarist for a number of bands ranging from soul to psychedelic.
His adult pursuits in music were reignited ten years ago when he studied classical guitar. And, his participation in a songwriting workshop with international recording artist, Mae Moore, inspired him to become a songwriter.

Paul Priest writes songs about the eternal topic of relationships. Like most classic pop songwriters, he wants his songs to be singable. It is also important that his music and lyrics are memorable and move the audience. To this end, he workshops his songs with musicians and singers, making sure the songs work. He finds his inspiration in everyday life and in the stories people tell.
Paul Priest studied creative writing with Joyce Carol Oates earning a B.A. in English. He has published short stories in the United States and Canada.
