I started out as a jazz musician, taking clarinet and sax lessons. My teacher insisted I write out my improvisations, which was the beginning of my writing . I played in all the bands in high school and college. I took voice lessons and sang in the choir for a couple years. I moved to San Francisco and played with a few rock bands, but never scored a permanent job. I joined the merchant marine during the vietnam war, and have retired two years ago after 25 years. I got into song writing influenced by a guitar player's wife. In 1969 I spent a year (while on the ship) writing songs which went no where. In 1995 I didn't ship for three years and spent all my time writing, with the help of the natinoal assoc. of song writers which are no more. I purchased all the necessary equipment to make home demos which you will be hearing on the cd's and tapes. I have writing a few songs recently but prefer to sharpen my piano skills.
