Born in Edinburgh, Scotland and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Richard Kean has been piping since age "very wee". His love of piping has taken him through some of the strangest places in North America and Europe playing in every venue imaginable. Before joining Jiggernaut, Richard performed with the world champion Hamilton Pipe Band, Poor Man's Fortune, Beyond the Pale, Wolgemut, and Tartanic. Equally popular at weddings and funerals, Richard's intimate (some would say carnal) knowledge of his instrument allows him to push back musical boundaries, explore brave new worlds, seek out new civilizations...and play pipes at them.
