Rick Risi
Singer/Songwriter/composer
After an academic music training in his native country of Italy, he decided to move abroad; first to Los Angeles where he studied vocal techniques and songwriting at Musicians Institute, and then to London where he lives nowadays and where he started to perform and produce music professionally. Rick has a unique vocal style which you can compare to many artists and to none... his music it's very much a cultural blend... usually performs as a solo act merely accompained by his acoustic guitar though he might be joined occasionally by other musicians or experimenting with electronic loops. He has recorded three albums of his original material: "Rick Risi I", "A Different Kind of Colour", and "Smoke and Tenderness". He doesn't have a specific style or genre. He really plays and write everything from pop/rock to experimental to folk to latin/jazz. The main influences in his compositions are Leonard Cohen, Peter Gabriel, Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Laurie Anderson, and many more. He wrote several scores for video animation and documentaries,has also written two poetry collections "The Boat of Empty Sorrow" and "A Cathedral in the Desert".
