Shamra has recently received much industry attention after being praised by Gary Savelson on his popular A&R website Demo Diaries (www.demodiaries.com) in November 2003. Joe Nicolo (The Fugees, Urge Overkill, Billy Joel) calls the track Cutest “a hit.” Paper Umbrella aired on Dawson’s Creek in April of 2003 and is featured on the season six soundtrack. Shamra is featured on the May 2003 CMJ Certain Damage compilation, as well as the June 2003 CMJ Music Monthly CD. The band was one of 10 artists picked by ASCAP to attend the Summer 2003 ASCAP Songwriting Workshop. In addition to college airplay, Shamra has received commercial spins from WDHA 105.5, Q104.3 (DJ Jonathan Clarke included Cutest in his picks for the best songs of 2002), and is in rotation on XM Satellite Radio. Matt Pinfield (MTV, Columbia Records) says, "I don't let many people rub my head, but for these guys I'll make an exception.” Wes Soriano of The Aquarian calls Shamra, “The answer.”
