Sharif's popularity as an artist is rooted in his innovative sound, distinctive airy voice, and electrifying stage presence. For his latest record, 'Surrogate Lovers,' Sharif recruited members of Whiskeytown, Jason Mraz & David Gray. Two songs were soon picked up by the popular rock compilations "Station Break" & "Decent Xposure," while countless other songs have been featured in hit TV shows like "South of Nowhere" & "No Reservations."

In 2006, after shining throughout America on NBC's "Star Tomorrow," Sharif enlisted the help of legendary songwriter Desmond Child to begin work on his highly anticipated third record.
