Some people don't get it, they're always right
Never sorry for anything, can't apologize

Or they stress the word sorry in an unkind way

Some ask if it's necessary or add for what it's worth
Or wonder if that's what it takes to take away the hurt
Some say it over and over again
For the same old mistake they keep making amends

Two little words, said with sincerity
Regret, recognition, responsibility
Restitution when possible
A good apology says

Some are forced to say it, but don't mean what they say
Like a child who says sorry to get his own way
Some people say it while they justify
Some won't say it until they're ready to die

Some won't accept it, they close their eyes
It's the guilty's relief or some exercise
To make the sorry one better, more in touch or more wise
But pride does not apologize

Some never say it as long as they live
They go out alone with nothing to give
Some say it on paper so they don't have to see
But I know you mean it when you say it to me
