Story Behind The Song
I directed this song to an adolesant audience...about learning from your mistakes and making responsible choices...(sex, drugs, alcohol, education, violence...although it applies to each and every one of us...)This is one of those tunes that a particular demographic (16 to 25 years old) grabbed on to and ran with
it...they like the anger and the resolve...I performed this tune for live highschool and college audiences all over and around New
England in the 90's...When I was invited back to many schools this song was remembered and requested by all...(not bad considering
they'd only heard it once before...)
Song Description
Mistakes made once are not mistakes...they're lessons. The same mistakes made repeatedly (like making the same bad choices over and over again) will do nothing but burn you..

Lyrics
Title: ONCE LEARNED , TWICE BURNED
VERSE:
I'm not the first, probably won't be the last
To learn my lessons from a very painful past
so, Why is it that I'm back in class learning lessons I should've learned before?
Oh no...Go over it one more time
Oh no... I hope it's the last time...
CHORUS
Once Learned, Twice your Burned
Another Lesson in the book of life is churned
once learned Twice you're Burned
Another Chapter in the book of life
VERSE:
It should've been clear...I should've seen the signs
It's not like it was for the very first time
But here i am caught in the same old bind learning lessons I should've learned before
Oh no, go over it one more time
Oh no...I hope it's the last time
CHORUS:
once Learned Twice you're Burned
Another chapter in the book of life is turned
Once Learned Twice you're Burned
Another chapter in the book of life
VERSE:
Now i start to thinking...just what is next
the book of man and woman is a complicated text
Perhaps a class in cooking, not the opposite sex
I hope the lessons are not the ones I learned before!
REPEAT CHORUS TWICE AND OUT
