Story Behind The Song
Just a true story. I wrote this while I was on holiday in the USA and I had done all the things in the song.
Song Description
I am always amazed that I can write songs and even more amazed that people like listening to them. I am inspired by what I hear see and do. Nashville, Memphis and the Mississippi who could ask for greater inspiration.

Lyrics
The words always come straight from my heart
My pen inscribes from my soul
The two go together must never be apart
For together they can make a whole lot of country
I can write to make you tremble with my blues
I can write to make you want to cry
I can write 'bout winners and those that always lose
And I can write about the Lord on high
And to me that spells out country
It's what I always love to do
I'm so happy when I'm writing country
'Cause I guess that I'm country through and through
The words always come straight from my heart
My pen inscribes from my soul
The two go together must never be apart
For together they can make a whole lot of country
I've walked down Nashville's Broadway
I've stood in Memphis list'nin' to the blues
With country there's always something to say
So it's country's that my heart will always choose
In Virginia, Carolina and also Tennessee
I've written words for poems and for songs
I've stood humbly on the banks of the Mississippi
And I know that it's to country I belong
The words always come straight from my heart
My pen inscribes from my soul
The two go together must never be apart
For together they can make a whole lot of country
Yes together they can make a whole lot of country
