Lyrics
New York's Skyline
(I found my homeland in) New York City
I'll never forget New York's skyline,
I'll never regret for those troubled days,
I'll never upset for so tricky was to enter your heart.
I was alone far from my homeland.
You gave a ride to Roosevelt Island
Where could enjoy the best New York's skyline.
You looked more abstract than a painting by Kandinsky.
I was barebacked as a sleeping Dostoevskij.
I was a loser lost somewhere in the sadness,
Who couldn't lift his eyes out of the sidewalk.
Because I left my hometown so long ago.
Because I lost my homeland so long ago.
.........
I had the dream to win your love so
I drew your hair close on my shoulder
We fell in love in the Roosevelt Island tram.
You are the winner, as I must quit my past time,
Just an Italian who behaved like a small grub.
No more the loser lost somewhere in the sadness,
'Cause you're the skyline that makes me feel so happy
To spend my next life with you in New York City.
So far I found my homeland in New York City.
So far I found my homeland in New York City.
