Story Behind The Song
I heard about a book entitled "Learning to Love What Is". The title stuck in my mind, fermented a while, and then fell out one day, in the midst of trying to write another, completely different song.
Song Description
Two old guys have a saying that guides their lives, and they love to spread it to other people in an effort to get them to see the real beauty of the world around them.

Lyrics
"Love What Is"
Tirk Wilder
Masters of wisdom, general store sages,
On the front porch of the old town square,
Two elderly gents been hangin' out for years,
In their overalls and rockin' chairs,
Talkin' 'bout fishin', kids and wives,
And the rule that guides their lives,
Love what Is,
Love everything you see,
What is,
Is what it's meant to be,
You'll keep your sanity, if you
Love What Is,
When I first heard 'em say that, I was barely a kid,
It became a part of my heartbeat,
My grandpa and his grizzly bear brother,
Would tell strangers passin' on the street,
Everyone in town loved those two old guys,
Passin' on words to the wise,
REPEAT CHORUS
It's amazing what you learn from two old dudes,
Quoting scriptures and shooin' flies,
They'd tell you not to ask for new things to see,
But to see things through new eyes,
REPEAT CHORUS TWICE AND TAG
