Story Behind The Song
At one time, my friend was on a constant quest for happiness, but from where I was standing his life was pretty good other than his insatiable search for "something." I was concerned that his self-destruction through drugs, one-night stands, and attachment to designer labels was going to absorb who he truly was.
Song Description
This is a plea to a friend to stop searching through drugs, material things, booze, and thin relationships by enjoying what he already has.

Lyrics
And you have another drink
because you're missing someone
perhaps yourself
And you take another hit
because you want to feel something
perhaps it's life
Then you sober up
And it's all the same
Then you sober up
Nothing's changed
What do you do now?
Wanna fly like a blue jay now
but your so blue, jay
what do we do
And we buy another thing
because we want to fill something
perhaps it's empty
And we take another trip
because we want to go somewhere
perhaps it's right here
then you come home
and it's all the same
then you come home
nothing's changed
What do you do now?
Wanna fly like a blue jay now
but your so blue, jay
what do we do
What do you do now?
Wanna fly like a blue jay now
but your so blue, jay
what do we do
