Story Behind The Song
I was in Hawaii when I wrote this song. Not a true story, just observing the tourists and thought about some of the lyrics while cruising around the island in my rented Sebring convertible.
Song Description
A money hungry gal get's bamboozled by her own scheme to be pampered by a wealthy man. She winds up driving the gigolo around, paying for everything, and maxing out her credit card.

Lyrics
Verse I
I met him in Hawaii
On the Maui Island sands
And like those tiny golden grains
He slipped right through my hands
Now ain't this just a woman's luck
He took me for five thousand bucks
I thought he was a handsome wealthy man
Verse II
We ate at every gourmet bar
Hit all the grand hotels
we traveled in MY rental car
While he sang "Pearly Shells"
My dollar bills slipped through the cracks
When I got home my CARDS were maxed
I never should have let it go that far
Chorus
Under the sun at the beach
A rich man I sought
And he's the son of the beach
Whose story I bought
I never thought I'd be so dumb
Be even half that dense
Still he's the son of the beach
Excuse my French!
Verse III
The next time when I date a man
I'll hold on to my cash
Cause after all I'm looking for
A guy with bucks and class
I tell my girlfriends "don't give up"
We'll find one yet with any luck
But the Maui Island guy can kiss my...
Chorus
