Story Behind The Song
I never expect girls to say yes when I ask them out, and spend most of my time convincing myself they'll say no....hence the extraordinarily pleasant shock when some say yes!!
Song Description
This tells the story of a guy who plucks up the courage to ask a girl out, does so by leaving a voicemail, then convinces himself her answer is going to be negative. He then spends 24 hours fretting, only for her to eventually call back and say yes, much to his surprise and understandable euphoria.

Lyrics
Now's the time it must be done
Refuse to do one more dry run
Fingers slip as you exhale
Will it be her or her voicemail
Feelings left out in the void
Will she be pleased or just annoyed
Deed is done no going back
The issue's now what I might lack
Chances are at best so-so
I just know that it's a no
Why would she be in to you
Don't think your name's her next tattoo
There's no way she's gonna call
She's bound to prefer someone tall
Cards are bleak from my tarot
I just know that it's a no
Evening ends your silent phone
Has not conveyed her dulcet tone
You toss and turn and turn and toss
Convince yourself she's no great loss
Tomorrow brings another day
Oh sod it all I might go gay
Then it comes through on your phone
Just one red dot the source unknown
All that hope that you supressed
Now explodes as she says YES!!
She said yes!
She said yes!
