Story Behind The Song
I wanted to write an up-tempo secular contemporary Christmas song as part of a seven-song Christmas collection.
Song Description
I wanted to write a song that celebrated making memories and not the gifts and the "getting" of Christmas. Christmas, even if you don't do the religious part of it, is a celebration of family, togetherness, and acknowledging that everyone is together for another year. I tried to incorporate as many fun things about Christmas that I could remember in a light-hearted, fun, and upbeat style.

Lyrics
Christmas All Year Long
(c) 2009 Dana C. Lamb
Verse One
Everything smells like a Douglas fir
Cinnamon and chocolate swirled
Sing-a-long with the carolers song
I wish Christmas could be all year long
Put on your mittens let's run in the snow
Then kiss me senseless under mistletoe
When you're lucky to be where you belong
I wish Christmas could be all year long
Chorus
Fireside, winter nights
Twinkle lights a-gleam
When the little kid in ya still wants to believe in a jingle-hallelujah-kinda-peppermint-dream
Verse Two
So come over here my gingerbread man
Let's celebrate Christmas like only we can
We'll listen for Santa til the break of dawn
I wish Christmas could be all year long
Verse Three
A red and gold bow at the end of the year
I've waited for this and it's finally here
Before you know it it will be all gone
I wish Christmas could be all year long
